For many people the Oscars, Grammys, or VMAs are some of the most anticipated events of the year. These award shows give hard working artists and their fans the recognition they deserve in a beautiful night of celebrating the industry, whether it's movies, music, or television. But for those of us who are a little more nerdy, there's a less mainstream award show that usually flies under the radar each year. The Video Game Awards or the VGAs for short is an award show that celebrates not just the gaming industry, but the community surrounding it. With big reveals, awards for developers, voice actors, and streamers, and players alike, the VGAs are easily one of the most anticipated events of the year for gamers. This year the competition was fierce with many amazing nominees. However, only a few could be winners. The categories and winners of the VGAs 2016 are as follows.
