Seven Destinations For Summer Vacation

It can be difficult to find an amazing and affordable vacation spot as a college student. You want to go to a place to relax, hang out with your friends, and get away from all of the college papers and exams. At times, college can be so stressful that you just want to run away to a place where you can clear your head of everything. The following are eight dream/affordable (with proper planning) amazing places that you and your friends can travel to:

7. Paris

With exciting adventures, ancient buildings, and so many places to sightsee, Paris is a great place to visit during the summer. Visit the famous Eiffel Tower, Musse d'Orsay, or the River Seine (tripadvisor.com). Paris sounds a little expensive, I know, but "10 Cheap Summer Vacation Spots for Students" notes that the key to saving money on a trip to Paris is to travel during national holidays. Don't forget to look out for airline sales to get the best deal on a ticket!

6. Miami

Miami is the dream. White sand beaches and beautiful blue water, oh, my!!! It’s not only beautiful, but there’s so much to do, no matter the time of day. Visit Lincoln Road where you can find historic walking areas, shopping malls, and so much more! You will never be bored. Whether it is a concert, late night snack, or cultural activity, there is always something around. This trip can be a little costly. Remember to save money and plan ahead. Make hotel reservations well in advance, and watch for deals.

5. Charlotte

Make your way to the state of North Carolina. This rising city offers many adventures from amusement parks and NASCAR tracks to professional football and basketball games. Go river rafting, visit BB&T Park, the Discovery Place, and the Carolinas Aviation Museum (tripadvisor.com)! Charlotte is not only a beautiful city; it is also a place of serenity, perfect for making memories.

4. Daytona

Daytona has tons of affordable hotels, like the Days Inn Daytona Beach Downtown, and the Budget Inn of Daytona Beach. Daytona also has tons of different beaches, and a hospitable environment for young adults. The city hosts the Ponce de Leon Inlet Lighthouse, one of the world’s oldest lighthouses (travel.usnews.com). It is an amazing city with so much to do. You can visit the museums and of course, the Daytona Lagoon. While you are there, don’t forget to visit the International Speed Way and see if they will let you take a lap around the track! Have fun!

3. Santo Domingo

Looking to go International? This city in the Dominican Republic is a dream. Check out the airlines for lowest price airfares. Southwest offers sales on their flights at least four times a year. You can buy your ticket early in the year, and leave during the latter part of the year. This will allow you to find the most affordable hotel, and also save your spending money. If you have never been out of the country, Santo Domingo is a great place to start. Go and visit the Zona Colonial, also known as the place that Christopher Columbus “settled in the New World” (travel.usnews.com). Don’t forget to plan ahead, get great airfare prices, and have fun!

2. Myrtle Beach

This beach is filled with amazing things to do day and night. You will never be bored. Visit Broadway At The Beach, the Tanger Outlets, or go on Nature and Wildlife Tours. Relaxation and great fun can be found here. Hotels may be a little costly, so you will need to really plan ahead and look for great deals. Should you decide to visit, plan at least one day to visit the amusement parks, walk along the boardwalk, and have a blast.

1. Puerto Rico

The number one spot is Puerto Rico. Experience sightseeing, touring, visiting a natural rainforest, and taking a tour of old San Juan. Let your days be filled with enjoying the beach, and your nights filled with dancing. This island is filled with open restaurants, inviting atmospheres, and I cannot forget, the Americana Mall where one can purchase a marvelous pair of shoes! While you are here, plan to also go to the Isla de Vieques and swim in the bioluminescent bay. Southwest offers a nice deal on a plane ticket if you catch their sale. This trip is worth saving your money, planning to have a blast, and making some of the best memories!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
