The Chi Omega house is the only sorority house on Langdon that was originally built to be a sorority house. As special as that sounds, this also makes Chi Omega one of the oldest houses, if not the oldest house on Langdon.
Besides the difficulties that come with keeping an old home up to date, Chi Omega really does have one of the most practical houses on Langdon. Chi Omega has two floors of rooms with eight rooms on each floor. Each floor has one triple and one quad, with the rest as doubles (besides the president's room). This means we have only four bunk beds, and the people who get the bunk beds are the ones that did not participate in any activities throughout the year. In each room, everyone has a nice big dresser, pretty large closets (some people even have hallway walk in closets), a desk with three drawers (some with nice desk chairs that roll), and lofted beds that provide room for extra storage.
The house mom's room is on the main floor, making her pretty far away from us. Although Chi Omega has been through three house moms this year, Jessica (our current house mom) has it pretty nice in her own apartment-style room. Jessica always leaves candy out for us, so she is pretty great.
As for bathrooms, we have one on the kitchen floor, one in the entry way and one large communal bathroom on each floor of rooms. Each communal bathroom has three sinks, three showers, and two toilets. Additionally, each communal bathroom has great storage for all of our items. Although this may not seem like enough, trust me, this is plenty of bathroom space.
Chi Omega also has a great study room with endless outlets, desks, and nice chairs. In addition to the study room we have a very chill TV room with couches, tables, a popcorn machine, and two washers and dryers. Also located in the TV room are our study binders, a.k.a., the best things ever. Perfectly alphabetized by class, we have bookshelves full of old notes, tests, quizzes, and assignments that sisters have previously taken. These things are a lifesaver.
My personal favorite room in Chi Omega is the kitchen. Chi O has the best water machine, which never runs out of chilled water. In addition to the water machine is an endless supply of apple juice, orange juice, and cranberry juice (which make for great chasers). A great new addition to the Chi O kitchen is our coffee machine that never runs out of hot coffee. Having 24/7 coffee is definitely a college necessity. Another perk of the kitchen is our three fully stocked fridges.
The last room in our house is our chapter room, which is basically an oversized living room with endless couches. It gets its name because on Monday nights we remove the couches and have chapter.
If you are not already convinced on the greatness of the Chi Omega house, knock on our door and one of our friendly sisters will give you a tour!
