You scroll through your feed and see an article with a flashy title. It reads, "10 Steps To Success", and it strikes your curiosity so you decide to click. You have sunk your time into the writer's words and maybe you feel dissatisfaction, maybe you feel enlightened, or maybe you don't know how to feel.
There are many articles like this, and they all claim to have secrets for linear advancements in life. The issue is that life is not linear, and to attempt walking the pathway of some strange writer is idiotic. Your relationship is not going to be saved by "Avoiding These Mistakes", you are not going to be a millionaire in your 20's with "A Quick Cash Tip", and you are definitely not going to be happy if you do "These 5 Things People Do to Stay Happy." You are human, and to attempt avoiding the "bad" emotions with useless advice takes away from potential life lessons.
If you have a vision then go after it, make your own path and discover. You may be disappointed and experience one of those "bad" emotions, but in the end you learned a "Mistake to Avoid" and nobody can take that feeling away from you -- a silver lining in an otherwise unfortunate experience.
So, want some advice from a strange, idiotic writer? If you feel lost in this world, it's fine. With enough wandering, you might find some beauty in being lost, or discover enough to feel at home in your element. If you don't have a vision for the future and are frightened of things to come, you are not alone -- this idiotic writer feels the same way.
It is okay to be afraid, but to stray away from an experience because of the chance to fail is accepting defeat without a fight. Go boldly and build your confidence on your own because, in the words of Terry Crews, "It takes courage to look like a fool." I do recommend watching his advice on YouTube because it might speak to you as it did me.
Don't let anybody deter you from accomplishing your goals by making you feel "awkward" because, in the end, it's just an emotion Shying away from a dream because of some peculiar emotion sounds, well, peculiar doesn't it?
I will end with a quote by Hunter Thompson, "All advice can only be a product of the man who gives it. What is truth to one may be disaster to another." Keep reading, experiencing, and listening, but know that whatever you do can lead to disaster, even if an article has claimed it to be fool proof. Nothing is fool proof, but that's okay! You shouldn't be afraid to look like a fool anyway because the best people in the world -- in my opinion -- are the foolish ones.
P.S. If you'd like to read Hunter Thompson's advice to a friend then visit this site, it's worth the read.
