5 Ways To Change Up Your Bedroom On A College Budget

I was getting so bored coming home to a room that looked the same for over a year, but didn't have to money for an Ikea makeover. So, I used these five changes and am obsessed with the new look. My room looks completely different and I didn't even spend $100.

1. Get a new comforter

I just did this and it changed my mood completely. It doesn't have to be expensive. I got mine from TJ-Maxx. It was only $35! My room gives off a whole new vibe now.

2. Move your furniture around

It seems hard, but if my weak arms could do it so can yours. I moved all the pieces of my room around and it looks completely different. I love how it looks.

3. Print new pictures

It's fun to update the pictures in your room with what is current in your life. It's even fun to print off photos from Pinterest that you like. Add a lot of bright photos that make you happy.

4. Hang lights from your ceiling or around your bed frame

Something about small twinkle lights warms up a room. I have some around my bed and it's such a cute and easy way to spice up your room.

5. Add a whiteboard to your wall

This is such a fun and easy way to decorate negative space in your room. You can write encouraging words or your friends can leave you notes.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
