Greek Life is always busy around the U of A campus. There are date dashes, philanthropy events and activities for all of the school to participate in. As a part of Greek Life myself, I know that all of greek row is one big, supportive community. I have made friends in every house and many in my own home of Alpha Phi! With it being summer and recruitment coming just around the corner, it can be nerve wracking for freshman. I know I was nervous in the process, but in the end it is all worth it! To show all that the U of A Panhellenic has to offer, I went around asking girls from different sororities why they went greek, and here is how they answered!
"Going Greek is more than just getting letters assigned to you. It's an opportunity to make friends for a lifetime who will support you and only raise you higher. Joining Greek life was by far the best decision I have made in college and because of it I now have 300 girls that I can call my sisters. You will only understand it once you're in it and you'll appreciate all that it has to offer." -Jaslean Japna Ahuja, Kappa Alpha Theta
"Going Greek is a door for opportunity, success, and lifelong friendship."
-Lauren Grossoehme, Gamma Phi Beta
"Going Greek was one of the best decisions I made my freshman year! I have made some of my best friends in my sorority and I always have somewhere to go between classes! There is always something to do with my sorority and I am never bored!"
-Nicole Gefrides, Alpha Delta Pi
"You should go Greek because it gives you a good community of people to have college experiences with and it is a great way to get involved with your school. As a freshman it is so nice having a bunch of girls to help you get settled and to be there when you have questions about school and then you have girls that you automatically know around campus. It's nice to belong in something." -Ally Bonnell, Alpha Phi
"I love Greek life because I spend my time either hanging out with my sisters or coordinating when the best time is to go to the house for my next meal. Say hellooo to the sorority forty!" -Auriana Ehsani, Sigma Kappa
"Greek life at the U of A is so amazing because there are so many different chapters, which helps everyone find the right home for them. With so many different chapters everyone has friends in other houses, which makes everything much more fun! Greek like also helps a big campus feel smaller, and helps you connect to other students."
-Brynna Lapin, Chi Omega
"Greek life makes you feel like you're in a smaller community which is great since the U of A is such a big school. You get to develop close family like relationships with people not only in your PC but with the older girls as well. They really make you feel comfortable at the house and around school." -Erika Zanotti, Kappa Kappa Gamma
"Going Greek makes you involved not only in the community and the university, but also in one another's lives. All Greek members help each other to become better people and reach their life long goals, and that truly makes us one huge family."
-Bianca Trotto, Gamma Phi Beta
"Greek life at the U of A rocks my world because it makes a school of 40,000 plus students feel like a community of people I've known my whole life!"
-Carly Oseran, Pi Beta Phi
"I love Greek life for so many reasons! I think fraternities and sororities create a strong sense of community, which is especially important on a large campus like U of A! It also creates life long friendships based on so much more than typical friendships. Sisters and brothers bond over philanthropy, leadership, and so much more. Rushing gave me 200 sisters and was the best decision I've ever made!" -Paige Carpenter, Alpha Phi
