English is a very strange language. From the way words are pronounced to the difficult grammar structure, I can't imagine having to learn it as a second language. I am glad my primary language is English, however, I do find it cool how in other languages, there are words for things or feelings that cannot be translated into English. Here's a collection of fun, new words to add to your vocabulary.

1. Tsundoku

(Japanese)

The act of leaving a book unread after buying it, typically piling it up together with other such unread books. I do this all the time.

2. Tuqburni

(Arabic)

This literally translates to "You bury me," meaning you feel as if you cannot live without your partner. How romantic!

3. Uffda

(Swedish)

This is a sympathetic word that is used to convey empathy for other people's pain. Ouch.

4. Kilig

(Tagalog)

The silly, bashful rush of emotion and butterflies-in-your-stomach-feeling you get after something good happens, usually with someone you like or have a crush on. How cute!

5. Lihi

(Filipino)

A strange craving for something, usually food. This is usually used when talking about a pregnant woman.

6. Gattara

(Italian)

A woman, usually elderly, who devotes herself to stray cats. (me)

7. Yakamoz

(Turkish)

The reflection of the moonlight on the water. This is such a beautiful word.

8. Layogenic

(Tagalog)

When someone looks hot from far away but you realize as they move closer...nevermind.

9. Abbiocco

(Italian)

The drowsy feeling you get after eating a big meal. I'm totally picturing Thanksgiving...

10. Desenrascanço

(Portuguese)

Being able to quickly improvise any given situation.

11. Verschlimmbessern

(German)

Making something worse when trying to improve it.

12. Ukiyo

(Japanese

Literally translates to "Floating world," meaning a place filled with bliss and living in the moment, forgetting about the stresses that life can bring.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
