5 Unpopular Opinions

We all have opinions on things in this world, and sometimes they can be considered an unpopular one. It's totally normal for this to happen, because we are each individuals with our way of thinking. It's also normal for us to have the same opinion because of the environment, culture, and beliefs we have grown up around. For a little fun, I'm going to list some of my opinions and then I'd love to hear some of your opinions!

1. Pepsi is Disgusting

I don't know about the rest of you, but I think Pepsi and Coca-Cola are nasty. It's probably cause of the acidity or something in them, but either way I prefer to drink Dr. Pepper, Root Beer or Mountain Dew to either of those. Of course, if none of my favorites are available, it's always safe to go with water.

2. Military - Transgenders

I would first like to say that I am very thankful for everyone who has served, be they man, woman, or transgender. It's great that you have served the U.S.! But I do agree with the ban, because of a few things. One of them being that among the LGBT community, transgenders have the highest suicide rates. I connect that back to gender dysphoria, which is considered a mental disorder. Money wise, treatments are also on the same level as people with diabetes and they're not allowed into the military. So that leads me to think that we can save even more lives by not letting transgenders into the military until after they've completely gone through the transition.

3. Apple Juice is Better

This is an ongoing fun debate on whether apple juice or orange juice is better. Personally, I think that apple juice is the best thing in the world. I've been teased that it's my 'boyfriend' because of how much I like it. Orange juice is okay on occasion, but it has to be no pulp and with breakfast. Apple juice is awesome to drink at any time of the day because of it's soothing, sweet coolness.

4. New Pokemon/Yu-Gi-Oh

These newer versions of these two amazing shows are terrible. I don't know what it is about them, but I dislike them. My brother absolutely loves them. Maybe it's because I grew up watching the original shows and now seeing the spin-offs it kind of drives me up a wall. It's the same with Teen Titans, though, because the new one of that show is absolutely crazy inducing.

5. Abortion

Quite frankly, it's the woman's body and society has no say over what she does with it. I personally wouldn't ever get an abortion, but it's my body so I can make that decision. A woman who makes that decision has the right to do so, and we should give her the facilities to safely do so. We don't need woman to go to sleezy doctors who could wind up severely hurting or killing the woman. Scientifically, there's a time frame where abortion is okay to do. Late term abortions are rare and usually only done when there's a medical emergency. In the end, it's the woman's choice.

Now maybe some of these aren't that unpopular and there are a lot of people who agree, who knows! But these are what my opinions are on these few subjects. What are your opinions?

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
