What we'd all like to say to the uninvolved, unprepared professor.
I am a straight A student and always strive to be the best. I don't usually have problems in my classes and if I do I know the resources that would best help. This semester I had met my match.
My professor was for math, mind be you math is already my worst subject. When you leave a classroom more confused than when you entered you know it is going to be a tough semester. My classmates were just as confused which meant I was on my own unless I wanted a tutor.
This semester Google was my best friend when it came to understanding the concepts and equations given. My textbook would give one way while my professor another, who's way we practiced in class. Any questions asked were unable to be answered. All the while any emails were either ignored or neglected. Tests did not match the test reviews and sometimes the material was on concepts we hadn't even learned yet! Whether this was the professors fault or the math program for having her be unprepared I am unsure. This caused me to spend an extra few hours a week completing homework and reviews. For this, there are a few words I would like to say....
Thank you for the opportunity to teach myself your course material while you are getting paid.
Thank you for not responding to my emails, causing me to overthink and confuse myself even more.
Thank you for all of the unnecessary anxiety.
Thank you for taking more of my time to understand and learn your material outside of class.
Thank you for beating around the bush when confronted in front of the class with your excuses and unknowings to the content.
And lastly, my GPA thanks you because who needs a 4.0 anyway?
You were by far the professor I mentioned to my friends and family the most. Congratulations.
I would like to thank Google, my textbook, my also confused classmates and God for allowing me to pass this class.
Enjoy your evaluations.
Sincerely, your most admiring student.
I am sure I am not the only student who has came across a professor like this. If you have had an uninvolved and unprepared professor then you know the feeling. Better luck next semester.
