I'm sure everyone would agree that a relationship brings unity, commitment, tenderness, blah blah. But I have learned over the last 14 months that there are a lot of things about it that I never would have expected to make me feel so happy and loved. So here is just a sample of the completely unexpected perks that come with having a (good, decent, worth-your-time) boyfriend.

1. I have an extra closet of comfy clothes.

I’m talking endless hoodies people.

2. I have a second set of dogs.

And they definitely love me more.

3. I also have a second family.

They put my present under the tree first so you tell me what that means… ;)

4. I (finally) have a secret handshake with someone.

Prepare to be amazed because it’s really great.

5. I have someone to goof off with.

Because who wants to actually “act their age”?

6. I have learned a lot about sports.

I mean obviously, because football player and all.

7. I always have someone to pop my back for me.

And it’s free.

8. I have someone to encourage my coffee obsession.

9. I never have to be cold again.

He doesn't even need to be told when to hand over the jacket anymore.

10. I always have someone to jam out within the car.

Our harmony is spot on.

11. I always have someone to complain to.

And with that, someone to tell me to chill.

12. I have someone to laugh at my jokes.

Even if it’s a pity laugh, just so I’m not laughing at them alone.

13. I have someone to nerd out with.

But in a cool way.

14. I have someone to annoy constantly.

But it's okay because you annoy me too. Punk.

15. I always have someone to eat with.

And I never have to be nervous about eating in front of you, because you’re too busy eating to notice.

16. I finally have someone to quote entire movies with.

“Lettuce? Lettuce?!?”

17. I have someone who can always make me laugh.

You just have to make the face and my day is made.

18. I always have someone to pray with/to pray for me.

It makes my heart explode when you do. Thanks, babe.

19. I will always have a best friend.

20. I have someone to share my future with.

And I wouldn’t have it any other way. I love you!
