Undetected: Shaan Singh

Shaan Singh is a 19-year-old DJ originally from Mumbai, India.  Singh started DJing at the young age of 15, and has continued to blossom since then.  His first gig was Sunburn Music Festival, Asia’s biggest music festival, at which he was able to take his first major step into the DJing world.

Through his time at Sunburn in 2010 Shaan was recognized as the youngest DJ to play at an international music festival really causing making him pop up on everybody’s radar.  During his early years majority of his gigs took place in

India, but as time went on he was able to spread throughout Europe.  He has been seen playing along side some of the biggest DJs such as Swedish House Mafia and Avicii.  This year Singh is too be seen at Tomorrowland in Belgium, which is one of the biggest EDM music festivals.

Shaan creates his own music, which has proven to be more than pleasing to ear as time has gone on.  Although merely 4 years ago Shaan was playing at small private gigs, he has grown to now have his own proper gigs that people are dying to come watch.  His gigs are now sold out, and filled with screaming fans.

Despite fame coming so quickly, Shaan hasn’t lost sight of who he is.  The atmosphere of his work can be easy to caught up in, however Shaan has proven to have a strong head.  Shaan plans to continue attending University in London, while working on his music next year.

Q: What made you start DJing?

A: I’ve always enjoyed music.  Basically, I started playing around with a trombone, piano, and eventually a guitar—and decided that none of them really worked for me. So, I started playing around with a console and it kind of clicked.

Q: How do you juggle DJing along with going university and friends?

A: Time management is key to making it all work.  I have to create a pretty strict schedule and stick to it.  You have to be focused and know what is important.  And I live on pretty much no sleep.

Q: Where do you find inspiration?

A: Nature, family, and friends.  I can’t really pinpoint it on anything specific.

Q:What is it like to play alongside other big DJs?

A: It’s like a dream come true than anything else.  I never expected to be playing with such big names in such a short time.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
