At the time of writing this I have done a lot of soul searching, a lot of job looking, a lot of working in general, and have made a lot of decisions. Also, at the time of writing this my business barely even exists which is why I am writing this. If I write it now and publish it, I will always have either my success or failure on the internet, which will hopefully push me to be successful.
I am in the process of starting my own marketing agency. After looking for jobs and hearing people tell me about how hard it is to find a job after graduation, I decided it was time to stop relying on other people and to make something for myself. I have decided that I want to offer Social Media Management/Marketing, SEO/SEM, and Web Design services to my clients with a focus on small businesses in the construction and real estate industries.
The adventure that will turn out hopefully in my favor is going to be a long and hard one, but I also think it will be mostly fun and enjoyable. I have always felt the saying “Love what you do everyday and it will never feel like work” has been a great one and is what I hope to instill in my life. If I’m going to be doing it for the next 50 years of my life I might as well make it fun, right? Even as young as I am now I have been in the place where I hated going to work and dreaded every day I was on the schedule and that is not how I want to live my life. I want to be able to come home everyday and feel that I had a productive day and most of all I want to come home enjoying what I do.
This has been something that has been in the back of my mind for a long time and one day I decided it was time to start acting on it. I could be focusing on a completely different industry and may not even live close to where I am now. I think that is part of what is so enticing about starting my own business. The possibilities are endless and I have to change constantly to stay on top of my game. I am also excited about the possibility to work from wherever I want whenever I want.
Another place I believe the desire to start my own business stems from is the desire to lead and change lives for the better. I am not claiming that I am going to be a multi-millionaire by the time I’m 30 or anything but if I can grow and supply a steady well paying job for even two or three people and that they actually enjoy coming to every day then it will be worth it. With that being said, the whole multi-millionaire by the age of thirty doesn’t sound too bad either. So, here it is I want to be running a successful business within the next year. We will revisit this post in a few months and check my progress. Be on the lookout for Uncharted Social.
