The University of Kentucky has many notable alumni, most coming from the basketball court. Outside of sports, two UK students are on the way to being added to the list of future household names. Maged Saeed and Alex Hamilton have created an app that will revolutionize how you make your weekend plans.

Saeed is a 23 years old Mathematical Economics major from Louisville. Hamilton is a 23 years old Computer Science major from Louisville. Neither knew each other before they realized that they both were creating apps to accomplish the same purpose. Once they knew this, they combined their efforts to begin Loop which launched in late March 2016.

With the University of Kentucky being such a large campus it’s hard to know what all is going on at any given time. Loop works to solve this problem. “We aim to provide a platform where you can metaphorically peek inside places and see who's there and what's going on in the moment” said Hamilton.

Worried about running into an ex? Wondering if Two Keys is as exciting as you hope it is? Loop answers these questions before you even arrive.

Once you download Loop, you link it with your phone contacts in order to have access to all your friends. Then you can look under discover which will have a list of events going on near you. Along with the listing of bars such as Two Keys and Tin Roof is a description of what is going on there that night, including deals that the bar is having. Outside of bars, the app also includes your favorite restaurants like Local Taco. Each event has a listing of who of your friends are there and gives you an estimate of the guy to girl ratio.

When you figured out where you want to make your plans for the night you click on the listing to show that you’re interested and then you invite your friends. This will take you to the chat portion of the app where you invite all your friends to join you with these plans. At the top of the group chat will be what you’ve organized to do for the night so that way the plans are clear to all your friends in the chat. If you’re a friend who was invited to the chat, you have the option of accepting or denying these plans.

While the app is local to Lexington, they hope to branch out as the app gains support. As well as branching out to other areas, they also want to include other events such as philanthropy and community events.

Loop takes the confusion out of your weekend nights. Prevent yourself from being left out of your friend’s plans by downloading Loop on the app store now! You can check out more on their website: http://www.stayintheloop.us.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
