The first year of college marks one of the biggest transitions in life that one can endure, and despite the advice I received regarding sporting events, rushing, or academics, I never imagined all the little things that I learned in just the first semester.
With this in mind, one of the most important things I have learned is that Uber consumes my wallet. When I have had a long night in heels, or I am across campus in the freezing weather, there is no chance I am walking home, and that is where I have learned that Uber comes in handy. I never knew the importance of having this wonderful app on my phone until I got to school, and now, it is something I use on a regular basis. Thank you, Travis Kalanick and Garret Camp, the founders of Uber. You two are the real MVP.
However, some may say that the app can be addictive. Is there ever a situation where it's too far to take an Uber?
I have learned the answer is always: absolutely not.
Whether it may be a quick ride to class when I am late, or a lift at the end of a Friday night, Uber always comes in clutch. Thank you to all those drivers that have picked me up late night and early in the mornings, you guys rock.
All in all, college students are very lucky to have such a wonderful app such as Uber. It has saved us more times than we can count, is way too convenient, and extremely handy. Just remember to be safe and always be nice to the drivers. We may rate them, but they can rate us, too.
Thanks, Uber. You have taught me that it's easier to have someone else drive me to class rather than walking, or worse, getting caught by P.A.C.E. in a parking spot that is not meant for me.
