If you haven't heard, the fashion mogul and America's Next Top Model host, Tyra Banks, 42, entered the world of motherhood. Wednesday, January 27, she announced to her Instagram followers that her little boy, Yorks Banks Asla had finally arrived after many years of waiting.
Yes, I know, her motherhood was a surprise to me too, I dropped my phone when I received that notification.
After struggling with fertility issues, the couple turned to a surrogate. They are now celebrating their new parental titles.
As a Disney fan, fashion fanatic and wannabe supermodel, I remember watching Tyra strut across my screen as I binge watched ANTM re-runs, before binge watching was even considered a thing. It always occurred to me that Banks would be the perfect mom to one little bouncing bundle. Here are a few reasons that I think this supermodel is the perfect fit for motherhood. (And yes, in honor of little Yorks, I will be using the pronoun He).
1. Banks is the obvious MILF.
For those who know the term, just look above for the prime example of her obvious MILF-ness. If acronyms are not your strong suit, I guess I'll leave it as, anyone would consider her one of the most beautiful women ever.
2. He will never be afraid to shine bright.
She has never been known for being the one to hide in the corner or go unnoticed and she will teach him the same thing. She shined bright as the stars and taught Lindsay Lohan to do the same in her Disney Channel movie, Life Size (2000). 3. He will never bash a woman or her body.
She would never tolerate a tabloid talking about her body, so why would she let her son say something about someone else's? This can be known as the day the earth stood still. Or at least for anyone that has body shamed another person. According to The Huffington Post , this speech on body shaming women was named one of the greatest moments on a talk show. This was after a tabloid brought their ridicule after she looked curvier than usual in the bathing suit she wore to deliver the speech on her show. The speech on The Tyra Show earned a spot on the TV Guide 60 Greatest Talk Show Moments list.
4. He will know 'that look'.
If he does something wrong he will surely get that look. The look of, you better stop or else. No one in their right mind would cross the ANTM judge in deliberation, so why would it be any different at home? When he sees that look, he will know to stop talking and sit down. She will know exactly what to do if he starts to get out of line.
5. He will have an edge for picking up ladies.
How could you not love the this kid? He will know exactly how to charm the ladies with his own set of "smize". He will also have a great example of a father, only a true winner could ever win over The Tyra Banks, yes, she is that great.
6. He will have VERY GOOD genes.
Everything from the hair to the perfect physique, Tyra Banks really has it all. And his dad, Asla is not so bad himself either. Mind you, she is 42 and he is 51! When it comes to appearance, this kid will have the very best when it comes to inherited physical features.
6. His future woman will love his mom.
Tyra is who every man wants and what every woman wants to be. It's as simple as that and any girl Yorks chooses, his mother will surely win over that girl's heart. Well, unless she messes with her son.
So I hope you learned a few things; Tyra is and will always be perfect, her son will be perfect and we were really all right when we idolized her in middle school. Well, maybe that was just me.
