We all know one...

The Types Of Friends In Your Group Chat
Photofinish 2009

In this day and age, it is (almost) impossible to go anywhere without your phone. With that being said, most of us can agree, that the group chat is the most frequent way that you communicate with your friends. It's convenient and more importantly, it's fun. Even if you've never taken time to think about it, there most definitely are different types of people who are in your GC. Who are these people, you ask? There's:

The "Why are you still in this group chat?"

We all know one or more of these. They're in the group chat but if you were to calculate the amount of texts they actually send in the GC it would probably be -563 (kidding). But seriously - this person is a GHOST! They never respond but you can definitely always count that they've read through all the dirty details that go down in the GC. Maybe they'd respond more if they finally unmuted the group chat......

The One Who Sends Funny Pictures and Cute Articles

This person is always sending you links to the "tag a friend so they have to look at a taco" pictures. They're always looking to make the GC laugh in the most stupid way possible. They also never fail to send you the links to those cute articles thanking you for being friends! We love and appreciate you!

The One That Gets Ignored

This person could ask a question, send a picture, or just say something sweet but they'll hardly ever receive a response from the GC. Either they text at such crazy times or they get talked over by the more powerful egos in your GC. Either way, at least they aren't alone.

The "Communicates Strictly With GIFs and Bitmoji"

The One That Sends Screenshots

We all know a friend like this!!! They never know how to reply to other human beings other than the GC squad, so they'll send screenshots of the conversation to receive a general consensus on what is appropriate to say back. The GC always has this person's back.

The One Who Makes all the Plans

SHOUTOUT TO THIS INDIVIDUAL!!!!! Without you, the group chat would never know when the cab is leaving for the party or ready to eat dinner! Without this organized friend, we'd probably all drift away into some black hole and never see one another (again, kidding).

The "Hungry when Drunk"

To which the Gif Guru would probably respond:

The One Who Can't Decide on an Outfit

Whether it's for class, a night out, an interview, you name it this person will need everyone's opinion on every detail of their outfit. What necklace matches better? What shoes look cuter? It's a long process but it's always worth it. Don't worry, we'll always keep you stylin'.

The One Who Finds Everything Funny

I'm 99% positive the only thing this person ever says in the GC is "hahaha" or "lol" and sometimes that's all you really need from someone. Thanks for always making your squad feel like they're funnier than they actually are.

The personas are truly endless when it comes to group chats and that's probably what makes them so fun! I'm definitely guilty of being more than one of these types of friends in the group chat and I have absolutely no shame at all!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
