If you read my articles, you will know that I am a fan of Tyler Oakley. I wrote an article about him a couple months back, so it is only fitting to review his debut book, Binge.
I attended a Binge book signing in Milwaukee on October 25th, where I was lucky enough to meet Tyler himself and receive a signed copy of his new book.
Tyler Oakley is in the peak of his career, so it only makes sense for him to finally publish a book.
"Pop-culture phenomenon, social rights advocate, and the most prominent LGBTQ+ voice on YouTube, Tyler Oakley brings you his first collection of witty, personal, and hilarious essays."

Tyler advertised Binge widely, saying that even if you have watched all of his YouTube videos, you'll be surprised with the content of Binge. I found this to be very true, when on the first page he revealed that Tyler isn't his given first name! (Its Matthew, Tyler is his middle name.)
Born and raised in Michigan, Tyler goes in-depth about his childhood; from his parents divorce, fighting an eating disorder, to realizing he is gay. He has quite the stories to tell about his college years too, when he attended Michigan State University.
Overall, Binge did not disappoint. Tyler's sassy, brutally honest personality was evident throughout the hilarious autobiography. I've watched all of Tyler's videos since mid-2013, and now, after reading Binge, I feel as though I truly know him as well as I know most of my friends.
If you want an inside look at YouTube personality Tyler Oakley's life that has never been seen before, read Binge. Even if you have no clue who Tyler is, his candid autobiography is sure to entertain you.
