20 Things I Am Set On Doing In My Twenties, No Matter What

Life is short, so I intend to take a risk.

On June 18th, I entered the stage of becoming an adult – my twenties. My teenage years treated me well, but I am happy to move away from them and leave whatever pain I had throughout those years in that time period. The twenties hold, I am hoping, big life changes that will bring me joy, most likely some stress, and a future that I can't wait to start. Here is a list of 20 things I want to do in my twenties!

1. Graduate from college.

This is something I have always wanted to do and I can't wait to accomplish it.

2. Skydive after I graduate.

My best friend and I made a pact that after graduation we would go skydiving together.

3. Get a tattoo.

I have wanted a few tattoos for a little over a year now, and I would like to get at least one of them in this time period.

4. Get a permanent job to start my future after college.

I love the job I have now, but that is not what I am going to want to do in my future. I won't make enough to comfortably support me, and that is my main goal.

5. Fall in love.

This is something that I haven't experienced but always have wanted to. This is one I can't force and have no control over, but hopefully it will happen.

6. Buy my own car.

I am starting to save up for this now. I know I can buy my own car if I budget enough. I just need to believe in myself that I can.

7. Travel to places I've never been.

I love to travel and see places I've never seen before.

8. Expand my palette.

Some might say, including me, that I am the pickiest person they've ever met. There is a minimal list of food I will eat and I would like to try to expand that list.

9. Buy a house.

I would like to be able to purchase my own house and live on my own two feet.

10. Be more open to adventures.

Going on adventures is part of what makes life fun. I want to go on those adventures. Life is short and I don't want to waste any time.

11. Continue my passion with woodworking.

So far, I have made an end table and a chest to put at the end of a bed. There is so much more I can make that I can wait to figure out how. I can build a table, a bench, and maybe even something as big as a house! There are so many possibilities and I will find a way to build at least one of them.

12. Make a change.

Whether it is as simple as donating clothes or bigger like marching in a parade or hosting a charity party, I want to make a difference. I am very fortunate to be where I am and I would like to use what I have to make someone else's life better.

13. Speak my mind.

For most of my life, I didn't talk about how I felt or what I believe, because I always have the thought that someone will have a negative comment. That leads me to my next point.

14. Don't care about what people think.

My life is the main life my actions and beliefs affect, so why should I let other people's judgments affect what I do or believe?

15. Go to more concerts.

I have been to a few concerts in my life and the ones I went to I had the best times at. Most of the musicians put so much work and effort into their shows which make them so much fun to be at. You can feel their passion throughout the show.

16. Get a purse that will make me feel mature.

The one that I've had my eye on is a Kate Spade purse. I feel like they look very professional.

17. Do something that scares me.

Life is too short to not take risks. I want to tell someone I love them, go rock climbing, buy a boat – if it scares me then I'll do it.

18. Learn how to invest my money.

I want to learn about stocks, how to invest my money in them, and how to know which ones to invest in.

19. Keep learning.

I may have graduated college, but that doesn't mean I can't stop learning.

20. Get married.

I have been thinking of this since I was a little girl, and I want to be married by the time I'm 30. Again, this is one I have no control over that, it is just a dream I hope to come true.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
