'Twas The Night Before Christmas: College Version

'Twas The Night Before Christmas: College Version

'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the sorority house
not a creature was stirring, not even a nerd.
The stockings were hung on the closets with care,
in hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there.

The students were nestled all snug in their beds,
while visions of Bud Light danced in their heads.
And the house mom in her 'kerchief, and I in my srat uniform,
had just settled our brains for a long winter's nap.

When out on the roof there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
tore down my One Direction poster, and threw on my hipster glasses.

The moon on the breast of the most perfect snow
gave the, “like most beautiful,” vision on objects below,
when what to my wondering eyes should appear,
but a miniature sleigh and like eight tiny srat reindeer.

With a little plump driver, so round and so thick,
I knew in a moment it must be St. Nick.
More rapid than sports cars, his coursers they came,
and he whooped and hollered and called them by name:

"Now, Tri Delta! Now, Pi Phi!
Now, Phi Mu and KD!
On, Sig Ep! On, Sigma Chi!
On, Kappa Sig and Fiji!
To the top of the stadium!
To the top of Allen Hall!
Now, dash away! Dash away!
Dash away all!"

As fast as Josh Robinson is how they fly,
when they meet with an obstacle as stressful as finals, mount to the sky.
So up to the top of campus they flew,
with the sleigh full of A's, and alcohol, too.

And then, in a minute, I heard on the roof
, the prancing and pawing of each little srat hoof.
As I drew in my head and was turning around,
down the chimney St. Nicholas came with a bound.

He was dressed so frat-tastic, from his head to his foot,
and his clothes were all perfect like a formal was afoot.
A bundle of toys he had flung on his back, an A for the nice and F for the bad.

His eyes, how they twinkled like diamonds on every girl's hand. His dimples, how merry!
His cheeks were like carnations, his nose like a rose!
His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bowtie,
and the beard on his chin was as white as the snow.

The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,
and the smoke, it encircled his head like a wreath.
He had a broad face and a little round belly
that shook when he laughed, like a bowl full of jello-shots.

He was round and thick, a right jolly old elf,
and I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself.
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head
soon told me finals gave me nothing to dread.

He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
and filled all the stockings, then turned with a jerk.
And laying his finger aside of his nose, and giving a nod, up the chimney he rose.

He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle, and away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But I heard him exclaim, as he flew out of sight,   "Happy Christmas to you, Mississippi State, and to all a fantastic night!"

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
