TV Shows That Are My Life

It's probably a really unhealthy obsession

TV Shows That Are My Life

We all have that one show or shows that we never miss. We record it, or we even skip out early on an event just to see it. To be honest, I have way too many shows that are my life. Most of the shows were introduced to me by my parents, so you have them to thank for the obsession.

My first show: Once Upon A Time

IT'S ABOUT FREAKING FAIRY TALES. WHAT IS NOT TO LOVE? Not only that, the show is really well developed and it's constantly surprising. It gives you insight on different characters we all grew up with. Snow White, Prince Charming, Robin Hood, Captain Hook (Way hotter than the cartoon one) and yes, even the Evil Queen. (Who is my favorite character on the show, so shoutout to Lana Parrilla, you're the bomb my queen.) Also a lot of the people are so cool in real life.

Second Show(s): Arrow, (Flash and DC Legends Of Tomorrow, Supergirl all go into this one)

Arrow is an amazing show for the superhero lovers out there. Arrow was the first show to premiere then all of these shows. But in all, these shows are great, well written and although I haven't read the comics, my dad says they do follow pretty closely. Now, they do get very dark. Especially the first season of Arrow, Flash is less violent, but just as cool, believe me. My little brother loves watching The Flash with us. CW does an amazing job with these shows, and let me tell you, the crossovers are the legit best because when the cast comes together, it's hilarious and totally bad ass. SO WATCH THEM.

Third Show: Survivor

I don't really like reality shows like this, but this show never gets old. It's so interesting because you see normal people like us, turn into animals. They have to vote each other out, find their own food, build their own shelter and compete in contests that test them. They do all this for 1 million dollars. After each season, you always have a favorite and each year they have a different theme. Like I said, it is so interesting to watch.

Fourth Show: Duck Dynasty

No explanation needed. Who doesn't love watching a bunch of Christian rednecks getting through life with their family?

Fifth Show: The Office

I have Mrs. McRobbie to thank for this. She played it in class for Christmas and got me obsessed. Simply because it is so funny. Dwight is so weird and he makes me laugh too much. So thanks for that McRobbie.

There are so many shows that I love and am obsessed with, but these are a few that I highly recommend. These aren't in order of favorites, there is no way I could put them in order if I had to. These five shows are not only funny, but they have all taught me lessons in their own way. The first three shows I would always watch with my family and they hold so many memories. Now, I'm here at college watching them all on my own, and I smile knowing that they're at home watching it too. (Sometimes I even text my dad with questions about the superhero shows, sometimes I all caps him when I get angry at the show too. I swear he still loves me) So, if you're looking for some shows to become obsessed with, now you have some. I would love to hear what some of your favorite shows are!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
