Turning 21 is a big deal for most people. In America, it means you can finally (legally) drink and in England, it is another excuse for a party. We can get swept up in the excitement of all these things, but what does turning 21 actually entail?
Legal Drinking
I've already mentioned this, but for Americans, it is the biggest change that will happen when you turn 21. That first bud light, mmm.
Gamble
Again, in the UK this is something you can do at age 18, but I suppose due to alcohol restrictions you need to be 21 in the USA. Don't loose it all at once!
Adopt a child in the UK
That's right, you can apply to adopt a child when you turn 21. Possibly start with cats though.
Apply for a helicopter, pilot or gyroplane's license
Well, you'll need to be able to fly your cats to the casino. Don't drink and fly kids.
You are tried as an adult
You are also required to go to prison if you are given a custodial sentence.
