It's not sexy if you can beat them in a chicken wing eating contest.

Being a guy's girl is a role I have always seemed to fall into. I had all brothers growing up and a dad that no only taught me a thing or two about boxing, but a thing or two about a sense of humor. It's because of them that I think fart jokes are funny and can drink most of them under the table. There are a couple of things, though, that aren't so great about being a guy's girl.

Girls hate you.

You're friends with their boyfriend and you're always around when they go to "hang with the guys." They think when you give him a noogie and bet that he won't drink an entire gallon of milk that you're flirting when really you just want to see him spill an entire gallon of milk.

Guys forget you're a girl.

Anything goes when you're "just one of the guys," they can punch you as hard as they want and still call you a "little bitch" for flinching even though you're barely over five feet tall. Guys meet you and immediately categorize you as a guy. You aren't sexy if you can out burp someone and beat them in a chicken wing eating contest.

If you do manage to get a guy to see you like that, he gets a little weirded out that all of your friends are guys.

Thought you could all hang out together? No, that's too weird.

No one offers you anything anymore.

When you bring other girlfriends around, they get the first class all-star treatment. They don't offer you food or a drink because they know you'll just get one out of the fridge but sometimes it's nice to be asked. It's a little disheartening to see all your guy friends treat your friends like queens and then you're just kind of there.

The guys are constantly trying to get you to set them up with your friends.

For some reason they think you have an unlimited amount of women in your pocket and that all of them are looking for a date. No, Chad my coworker and sorority sisters aren't all waiting for you.

You take every photo.

All of your best girlfriends have better friends or are in relationships and all the guys have their friends. Basically, you aren't in any.

Ultimately, brothers come first and you'll never fit in with the girls since your burps beat a man's.

So don't worry about him around me, it's how I am with everyone.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
