Anyone can put on some foundation and color their eyelids a tone that brings out the brightness in their eyes.

Anyone can find a way to shed a few pounds in order to fit into their desired dress size that is said to enhance their attraction.

Anyone can do almost anything to boost their appearance.

But, is this enough?

Is shifting one’s outer self, in any way, benefiting one’s inner self?

Some would argue that they gain self-confidence. They are able to look themselves in the mirror and be proud of what they see on the other side. But this is simply a fabrication.

This image that they see is only temporary — similar to the length of time that this outer self will please them for.

No, we do not want temporary worth. We do not want to feel loved or accomplished by what we see in the mirror. We do not want overly priced products to cover ourselves only to finally be considered beautiful. We do not want a number on a tag to tell us we are worthy.

No - that is what we must tell ourselves. We will not allow makeup or dress sizes to tell us that we — strong, selfless women — are good enough. Instead, we must truly believe so within our hearts, not within our outer self.

True, honest worth is determined by how you choose to celebrate yourself.

“I have worth because I am generous.”

“I have worth because I am independent.”

“I have worth because I am happy.”

“I have worth because I am strong.”

You have worth for reasons that set you apart from society as a whole.

What measures your worth?

What qualities do you, as an individual, have that establishes your true worth?

There is no incorrect answer to this question. I just ask to simply put it out into the universe. Maybe you will spend time thinking about it or maybe you will continue scrolling.

But I think you owe it to yourself to at least try to discover a little bit more about yourself and what makes you special through your own worth.

You are worthy. You are powerful. You can do anything you strive for. And nothing - not even makeup or body weight — will determine that for you except for you.
