Having curly hair can be a blessing, but more often than not, it can be a pretty big curse. Here are 10 struggles that you have definitely faced on a daily basis if you have curly hair.

1. The bedhead is unreal.

When I say I look like a monster in the morning, I mean it. My hair is always sticking up in random directions, and the dream of waking up looking like a graceful and normal person is long gone.

2. Combing your hair is an impossible mission.

People always gaze upon me with looks of absolute horror when I tell them I rarely comb my hair, and when I do, I comb it when it's wet after a shower. Trying to comb the knots out of dry, curly hair is an excruciating experience and you truly don't know pain until you've gone through it!

3. When you're styling it you never know how it's going to turn out.

Is it going to turn out glamorously or like a giant frizz ball? Who knows! Styling curly hair is always a guessing game, and if things go astray, the only way to fix it is to take another shower.

4. "How do you make it get so curly?"

Believe it or not, the only thing I do is take a shower and (like magic) my hair turns curly. Crazy how that works, huh?

5.The frizz, Dear God, the frizz!!

Catch me always having a ponytail holder on my wrist because there is a 100% guarantee my hair will frizz at some point during the day. Frizzy hair is also the number one reason why I hate summer so much--the humidity actually poofs my hair to levels I never thought it could reach.

6. You always hear questions about if you wish you had straight hair.

No, I don't. It's not nearly as fun and I look bizarre with it (although I do admit I sometimes get a little jealous of how great girls with straight hair have it).

7. People think it's okay to touch your hair without asking.

Stop pulling on my ringlets! I remember in high school my gym teacher would randomly come up to me and start running her hands through my hair and tell me how much she loved it--and as much as I love compliments, please, if you want to touch my hair don't be weird about it and just ask!

8. You'll never finish a bottle of shampoo before you finish at least 3 bottles of conditioner.

I got knots for days, which means I need more than a "dime size" amount of conditioner. It's a curse that my wallet can't handle.

9. You want me to blow dry my hair? That's hilarious.

Other girls can blow dry their hair and then just move on with their day with their fabulous hair. Girls with curly hair cannot use a blowdryer unless they are doing it with the sole intention of looking like a circus clown.

10. You have to live with the fact that you have the most amazing hair in the world.

Yeah, I guess this isn't really a struggle. Honestly though, as difficult as curly hair may be, I would never give it up because it's what makes me who I am and it's truly one of the best hairstyles out there.

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.
