If the Gaines family has wiggled their way into your home and your heart like they have mine, you've experienced the stages of coming to terms with your "Fixer Upper" addiction.
Stage 1: Once it's on, you're glued to the TV until HGTV starts playing "Property Brothers" or "Flip or Flop." Once it does finally change, its an instant buzz kill.
Stage 2: Christina and Tarek start to annoy you, because Chip and Jojo have become serious relationship goals. Christina and Tarek's California style just doesn't compare to the Texas charm. Where are the porch swings? Why are all of the houses one story?
Stage 3: Your Pinterest starts to look a lot like Jojo's. You now have a garden board, are suddenly very interested in pergolas and have taken a liking to raw wood and tables that are 16 feet long.
Stage 4: You start building your imaginary dream home, and it definitely includes shiplap and french doors. It probably also includes white cabinets, antiques and a brick fireplace.
Stage 5: The farmhouse life has infiltrated its way into your dream future. How much work is it to have cows and goats, anyways? If Chip and Jojo can balance a farm on top of a TV show and a family, it can't be that hard.
Stage 6: You start planning a vacation that somehow takes you through Waco, Texas. You just want to visit the houses, the silos and you're definitely anticipating the opening of Magnolia Flour.
Stage 7: You start researching grad school at Baylor and employment opportunities in the area. You needed a change anyways, right? Can't hurt to do a little research.
Stage 8: You find yourself asking out loud how possible it is to be adopted by the Gaines. Its a long shot, considering you're probably a legal adult, but it can't hurt to dream.
