There is something about the simplicity of getting out of the shower and throwing your hair up into a towel, that makes it such a wonderful invention. Whoever had the idea to twist your hair into a towel, and then to leave it on your head to help dry, was a pure genius! The fact that it makes your hair dry all crazy is nothing but a simple and irrelevant detail, that should be overlooked.
I plead guilty in the fact, that if I have nowhere to go and I am in the comfort of my own home, I can leave my hair in a towel for hours on end. It's just so handy and efficient, and really a lazy person's dream. Your wet hair, stays out of your way, and you don't have to waste time blow-drying it. You can sit on your couch in your favorite sweatpants and watch Netflix in peace, without having to worry about anything. As I write this very article, I am sitting on my bed and my hair is up in a towel. It is just so efficient! And then when you are finally ready to move on with your life, all you have to do is unravel the mess, and comb it out and hope that tomorrow your hair tames down a little, or if there is not coming back from the mess it may just be a hat day.
The only real crisis that comes with the love of having your hair in a towel is the actual horror of getting a haircut. The first shower after you get your hair done is the true test. And on those few occasions where you realize that your hair is now too short to throw up on your head with a towel, because of the layers or what have you, is a really tragedy. You have to either a) find a smaller towel and hope it works, or b) get over it and wait for your hair to grow back... I typically go with option a, no matter how ridiculous it may look. I will not let a haircut dictate my hair in towel lifestyle.
Thus, while this idea may seem so simple, or if you never put much thought into the greatest invention ever for people with long hair; the next time you get out of the shower throw your up in a towel! Understand the true beauty that comes from its simplicity.
