Mom,
First things first, I want to thank you for putting up with me for 19 years. I am not perfect, I do make mistakes, and we have had our share of fights, yelling, and screaming, but I would not trade you for the world.
You are the one person who I can always count on and the one who is there for me through all the tears, sadness, and joyous times in my life. You are so special to me, even though I am not the best at expressing it. You are the greatest gift I have ever received. You are the glue keeping our family together. You are simply amazing and never fail to impress me everyday with your strength and courage.
Most days you feel defeated, and believe that you were not the best version of yourself, mother, and wife. Often times I hear you saying “there goes my mother of the year award.” But, that is simply not the case at all. There will always be ups and downs, especially in our crazy family. One bad day does not mean you are not a great mother. I am sorry to say that you are not perfect, and I believe you need to understand that as well. Cut yourself some slack and stop worrying about all the times where you felt like you let our family down, and focus on the positive aspects in life.
I am writing this for you so you can look back upon this in times where you feel down. I want you to always remember how special you are to me and our family. The greatest friendship I have is with you, and it has been nothing but an amazing gain in my life. There are days where I feel angry or upset with you (and vice versa), but my love for you will always be everlasting. You are an amazing, beautiful, loving, humorous, caring, and all around strong woman and I never want you to feel like anything less than that.
Here is a special thanks to you mom! Thank you for putting a roof over my head, providing me with not only what I need but want as well, and for being my biggest supporter. Thank you for all the love that you give me, making me feel forever loved and very special to you. Thank you for always believing in me and making me feel fearless, like I can accomplish anything I set my mind to. Thank you for always seeing the best qualities in myself when I was feeling lost and not confident. Thank you for knowing the right words to say in order to put a smile on my face. Thank you for always putting up with me (even at my worse).Thank you for being an outstanding role model who is compassionate and dependable. Thank you for always putting, not only me, but every other person, first in your life. Thank you for being the greatest mom in the world! I love you.
Love,
Your lucky and grateful daughter
