"If you’re 22, physically fit, hungry to learn and be better, I urge you to travel- as far and as widely as possible. Sleep on floors if you have to. Find out how other people live and eat and cook. Learn from them- wherever you go." Anthony Bourdain
Travel while you're young. If you don't have a passport, get one. Go out and buy a backpack, stay in hostels, be open to adventure and make smart decisions. If you go in with an open mind, I promise you'll come back with a new perspective. When you return from your travels, you will see the world differently, no matter what it is. Find beauty in every day activities such as food, music, and water, and be grateful for them. In day to day activity, we forget the things that matter most in our lives. Traveling permits you the opportunity to reflect, ponder, and question who you are, who you want to be, and where you're headed. Just don't forget to take it all in.
Perspective:
Traveling is the best way of gaining a new perspective and view on leading life. You are immersed in a new culture, language and setting. Let go of your mindless problems and be thankful for all that you have. Traveling will make you rethink your daily problems when compared to those struggling for bare necessities. Experiencing a new culture will broaden your mind and the way you see the world.
Friendship:
Traveling allows us to see a glimpse of the lives of others. The people you meet along your journey will influence you in ways you never imagined. Be open to new friendships, whether they are fellow travelers or locales who can teach you a thing or two about their country. This is one of the best ways to make lasting memories and lifelong friendships because you share an intimate bond.
Face Your Fears:
Traveling in itself will challenge you to do things out of your comfort zone. Whether you are afraid of strange food, the ocean or bungee jumping, push yourself and conquer your fears. At the very least, go to a museum, go on a hike and do something you normally would not be drawn too.
