From a young age, I have always been obsessed with traveling and have always been on the go. My very first trip was a bus trip to New York City when I was 14. Since then, I have done nothing but plan my next destinations. My goal was to travel at least once a year to a place that's new to me. Since, I have been to New York City, New Jersey, Toronto (3 times), Atlanta, Cuba, Boston, Banff, Jasper, Edmonton and my next planned destinations are currently the Dominican Republic and O'ahu,Hawai'i.
I truly believe that I was born to travel and see the world. I believe that you don't fully live your life to the max if you don't step out of your comfort zone and see what the world has to offer. People learn so much when they're away. They learn independence, they discover who they are, they become stronger and more powerful too. Personally, I can say that I learn more about myself the second I take a step on that plane headed towards somewheres new. It gets so exciting. I still get butterflies as soon as I leave for my destination.
I've become so in love with the idea of traveling and learning about the world that I've taken a step further and I'm currently enrolled in the Travel and Hospitality course at a private College to learn more and get as much knowledge as I can to become an independent travel agent and help people get discounts to places that they want to explore and have on their bucket lists.
Traveling is such a great healing method too. You're feeling down? Book a flight. You're tired of staying in the same rut? Book a flight. You're annoyed being constantly surrounded by negativity? Book a flight.
The most common excuse by a person who doesn't travel is the cost. How about instead of buying take-out 4 times a week, you put that money in your savings. Instead of buying that 200$ bag or that 70$ concealer, you put that money in your savings. You will keep saving and the amount will keep adding. In no time, you'll be packing your bags and making way to a sunny destination without a worry in a world, because you deserved it.
Honestly, just go for it. You aren't losing anything, only gaining. Gaining experience and memories that will stick with you forever and make you want to never stop traveling. The world is full of hidden gems and it's for us to go find them.
