No matter how big or small the adventure, it is always something to look forward to

Where can I travel to next?

Travel. When I see this word, it instantly makes me start to daydream. I think of the places that I have been lucky enough to travel to and all the rest that I dream of adventuring to one day. Whether that be a weekend getaway or a bigger trip, it all is just as equally exciting. My favorite part of traveling is always the preparation. I get so excited that depending on how big the trip is, you could find me planning outfits and researching more about the place, weeks or months in advance. In 2016, I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to go to Paris, France. As soon as I had received the itinerary, I was online researching everything that we had to look forward to. The funny thing about traveling is that no matter how much preparation you do beforehand, in the moment, things could go completely on track or not at all. Another fun little thing to do in preparation for a trip is that while looking at an itinerary, just imagine all of the new memories you will make and the people you will meet along the way. Something about the different cultures, foods and experiences always makes me want to explore even more. Each location can be very different in its own ways. From the beaches of Florida to the mountains of North Carolina to even different countries. I am always trying to plan at least a small trip every once in a while. My bucket-list has a lot of trips on it; big and small, so I have to slowly start somewhere when I can.

I most recently just took a weekend trip up to visit my younger sister, who goes to school in Cullowhee, North Carolina. Her college is much bigger than mine so it is always interesting to see the differences between the two. Since I am always by the beach, going to the mountains is always a nice change of scenery. On my last day, we went to the Blue Ridge Parkway where the views left me completely speechless. It still has been very hot in South Carolina, so being able to even feel the cooler temperatures that the mountains have to offer made me happy. No matter where my next trip leads me, it has always left me with plenty of memories to look back on. With that being said, keep a look out for where I decide to go to next!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
