How To Kill Writer's Block

If you're anything like me, you must get writer's block extremely often. Even without any limitations as to what I can write about, with every option under the sun, I still have such a hard time sometimes figuring out what to write. However, I've just come up with a list of ideas for myself as to what I can write about for future reference. Hopefully this can help you too if you ever have a creative writing assignment or just generally feel like writing. You're welcome in advance.

1. A sudden realization or epiphany you have had in your life; whether it be big or small.

2. What makes you different from anyone else.

3. A hidden talent you have that nobody else would know - how did you discover you have it?

4. Your top ten favorite music artists and songs written by them.

5. Your favorite and least favorite teachers you've ever had - what made you love/hate them so much?

6. If you could go back in time, what's one thing you would do differently?

7. Write thank you letters to the most important people in your life and give it to them after!

8. Five things you're excited for in the upcoming future.

9. Any conspiracy theory ever because you could write forever about any one of those.

10. A list of what stresses you out and how to remain calm.

11. Research what your name means and talk about whether or not you think your personality reflects that meaning, along with the personality traits that come with your name.

12. What you think about horoscopes: are they real? Are yours accurate/have they ever been?

13. Any embarrassing moments you've had. I'm sure there are plenty for you to talk about.

14. Your biggest fears and why you're afraid of them.

15. Who has had the biggest influence on your life?

16. What has been your favorite age to be so far? What age are you most looking forward to?

17. What qualities do you look for in a friend?

18. What do you think your biggest accomplishment has been so far?

19. What do you want to be when you grow up and why?

20. If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?

Hopefully this gave you some inspiration for your next creative writing assignment or when you just feel like writing. I know I'll be referring to this list very soon myself.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
