Here are the most important places on my bucket list.
1. Italy
This includes specifically more cities in Italy rather than the country as a whole. The top three cities that I want to visit in Italy include Rome, Venice and Florence. I want to explore the streets of Rome. I want to see where the story of Romulus and Remus originated. I am obsessed with mythology, and where else would I want to go other than the place it began? I want to study the culture and traditions of the Italian culture. And who can forget about the food? I cannot eat enough Italian food, and what’s better than the authentic stuff? I cannot wait for my study abroad trip to be able to engage in all of the things of my dreams.
2. New Orleans
Okay, so I have been to New Orleans in the past; however, I was unable to truly take in the city and its culture in the way I truly wanted to. Simply put, I love everything about New Orleans. The sites, the sounds and the food captivate me every time. One of the things on my list of what I would love to do in the city is to try authentic Cajun food. First off, this is one of the types of food I grew up on. I live for gumbo and crawfish, literally. I also want to explore the more supernatural history of the city. While I am scared of almost everything, how does one go to the “most haunted city in America” and not explore its history? While those are only two reasons, I can’t help but watch one of my favorite shows, "The Originals," and see the streets and the culture of the supernatural and witches and want to go back.
3. Greece
I am more so wrapped up in the idea of Greece rather than the country in actuality. I love studying Greek mythology and reading works that are based on Greek mythology. The most recent series I have fallen in love with is "Percy Jackson and the Olympians." While I know the stories themselves aren't real or anything like that, I do love reading about Zeus, Poseidon, Hera and Athena. One of my favorite Disney movies of all time is "Hercules." Greek mythology has contributed so much to modern literature. We can also use the Greek myths to study about the cultures of the past and grow from it.
