Top 10 Tina and Amy Moments

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are my second parents. Their careers have inspired millions of young women, including myself, to write comedy and do comedy.

They celebrate their flaws, love to highlight their weird sides, and best of all, they do it together! I will always turn to Amy and Tina for help as I enter adulthood and continue to strive to achieve my career goals. If Tina and Amy have taught me anything, it's that all you need is a best friend to laugh with.

Starring in the upcoming movie, "Sisters," opening Dec. 18th, Tina and Amy will play sisters returning to their old childhood home in the hopes of reliving a few high school memories before their parents sell the house.

Before we buy our tickets and watch as the comedy duo brings us to tears laughing on screen next month, let's revisit their best moments together.

1. Playing Sarah Palin and Hillary Clinton together

Most people were first introduced to the Fey and Poehler dynamic back in 2008 when they played Palin and Clinton on SNL together. Although in actuality, the two have been writing and acting together since 1993!

2. Everything about "Baby Mama"

"Baby Mama", released in 2008, starring Fey and Poehler, laid the foundation for Saturday Night Live stars, Kristin Wig and Maya Rudolf in the 2011 hit, "Bridesmaids."

3. Hosting the Golden Globes

And hosting the Golden Globes again

And again

Something must have worked… Oh yea! It's because they made fun of how stupid the golden globes are.

4. The chapters dedicated to each other in their memoirs will make you cry

In Tina’s memoir "Bossypants", Fey dedicates a chapter to Amy titled, “I Don’t Care If You Like It (One in a series of love letters to Amy Poehler)”

Tina writes,

“Amy made it clear that she wasn't there to be cute. She wasn't there to play wives and girlfriends in the boys' scenes. She was there to do what she wanted to do and she did not ****ing care if you like it. I was so happy. Weirdly, I remember thinking, “My friend is here! My friend is here!”

In Amy’s book, "Yes Please," she titles Tina’s chapter, “Partner in Crime,”

Poehler writes,

“People think of us as a “comedy team” and I am not quick to correct them. Why wouldn’t I want to connect myself to the fiercest and most talented voice in the comedy world?”

5. Being the first all women coanchors of SNL's Weekend Update

From 2004 to 2006, Fey and Poehler shared Saturday Night Live’s Weekend Update Desk, bringing in a new voice to a primarily male dominated role.

6.When Amy played Liz Lemon during an episode of 30 Rock.

In a 30 Rock special, in which the show teamed up with Saturday Night Live crew and filmed a live episode of 30 Rock, Poehler guest starred, playing a young Liz Lemon in a flashback. Poking fun at Tina Fey, Poehler spoke in a heavy Philly accent and wolfed down a cheesesteak in her basement.

7. Their comedy bits on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon

The comedy duo has made countless appearances on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon as well as the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. When asked to do a Jersey Shore parody, who better to mock best friends, Snookie and J Woww then best friends in real life?

8. I mean they have several couple photo shoots

9. Their 20 years of friendship.

I like knowing they’ve been friends my whole lifetime

AND... *drum roll please*

10. They’re hosting SNL together on Dec. 19th!

If it could get any better, Fey and Poehler will be hosting the Christmas episode of SNL together next month and I'm sure this list will get exponentially longer.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
