Food is how you survive on this planet. You must eat to gain nutrients and other vital substances. To be honest, food is probably the love of my life. The only thing better than food? Delicious food! I've decided to graciously present you all with these top six recipes I have compiled.
1. S'more Brownie Bars (dessert)
S'more Brownie Bars are a fantastic collaboration between s'mores and brownies. It takes the best of both worlds and smashes them together. It's sweet and pairs well with a bowl of vanilla ice cream.
WHAT YOU NEED:
- Brownie mix (your choice)
- Marshmallows
- Graham crackers
DIRECTIONS:
1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
2. Get a 9x13 pan and lay your graham crackers on the bottom.
3. Prepare your brownie mix, following the directions on the box.
4. Spread your brownie mixture over the graham crackers, covering as much as you can.
5. Bake in the oven for 35-45 minutes.
6. Take out of oven and place a layer of marshmallows on top.
7. Turn on the broiler and place the brownies in the oven.
8. WATCH THEM. They shouldn't be in there more than two minutes, and they can burn very easily.
9. Cut them and enjoy!
2. Apple Cookies (snack)
Apple Cookies are a healthy twist on the original cookie! They still have the sweetness and crunch but are incredibly healthier for you. I used a knife to cut the core out and almost accidentally cute the apples in half (oops), so be careful cutting the core out. These are great for a fun snack!
WHAT YOU NEED:
- Apples
- Peanut butter
- Chocolate chips
- Pecans
DIRECTIONS:
1. Rinse off your apple(s).
2. Cut out the core.
3. Slice into "cookies."
4. Slather peanut butter over one side of each of the cookies.
5. Dribble chocolate chips and pecans over the peanut butter.
3. Cheesy Chicken Roll Ups (dinner)
Cheesy Chicken Roll Ups are heaven on Earth. They are the perfect mixture of cheese and chicken (my two favorite things, by the way). I used an 8x8 pan to cook them since my 9x13 pan was taken up by the S'more Brownie Bars! The bottoms in the middle didn't cook as well as I wanted them to so keep an eye out for that. They are great paired with some green vegetables.
WHAT YOU NEED:
- Cream of Chicken Soup
- Crescent Rolls
- Cheese
- Chicken Breasts (two or three)
DIRECTIONS:
1. Boil the chicken until no longer raw.
2. Shred the chicken.
3. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
4. Stuff shredded chicken and cheese into a crescent roll and wrap it all up.
5. Place each chicken roll up in a 9x13 pan.
6. Mix together the cream of chicken soup and half a cup a water.
7. Pour the mixture over the roll ups.
8. Cook for about 20-25 minutes or until golden.
4. Grilled Cheese Pull Aparts (lunch)
This a fun and easy snack or even lunch! It only takes two ingredients and is great as a finger food or dipped in tomato soup! Grilled Cheese Pull Aparts would be great in the winter time or if you're sick.
WHAT YOU NEED:
- Cheese
- Biscuits
DIRECTIONS:
1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
2. Pull apart the biscuit dough and start wrapping it around small blocks of cheese.
3. Place them in a dark, non-stick pan and cook!
4. Depending on your pan and your oven, the times can vary from 10 to 25 minutes.
5. Cinnamon Sugar Crescent Rolls (breakfast)
Cinnamon Sugar Crescent Rolls are such an awesome breakfast! They're fun and so simple! They taste amazing and will do particularly well paired with milk or coffee.
WHAT YOU NEED:
- Crescent Rolls
- Cinnamon
- Sugar
DIRECTIONS:
1. Preheat your oven according to the crescent roll directions.
2. Before rolling up your crescent rolls, spread butter on them and sprinkle a good amount (to taste) of cinnamon and sugar on the inside.
3. Roll up the crescent rolls and sprinkle some more cinnamon and sugar over the top.
4. Cook them according to the times on the crescent roll tube.
6. Sausage with Rice and Vegetables (dinner)
Sausage with rice and vegetables is a great meal! It's easy to fix and only calls for two things from the grocery store. You'll most likely have leftovers if you're eating alone, so there's a plus, too!
WHAT YOU NEED:
- Sweet Italian sausage
- Frozen vegetables with rice
DIRECTIONS:
1. Cook the sausage on low in olive oil until thoroughly cooked.
2. Cook the frozen vegetables and rice according to the bag. (I got one of them mixed; you may have to cook them separately if you can't find one.)
3. Slice the sausage up and mix it with the vegetables and rice!
