Winter Break is coming, which gives time for catching up with old friends, reuniting with family, and engaging in the holiday spirit! Oklahoma offers various of fun things to do during the winter time, so check out the list of top attractions to visit.

Downtown In December - Oklahoma City

Downtown in Oklahoma City has a lot to offer during the holiday season. The Devon Tower has an ice skating rink, and there is also snow tubbing at the Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. Downtown In December also offers free Holiday Water Taxi Rides! There's plenty more actives held Downtown and you can check those out by visiting their website.

Festival of Lights - Chickasha The town of Chickasha puts on its annual Festival of Lights! It features an incredible 3.5 million glowing lights. The route is just over four miles long and features a 172-foot Christmas Tree filled with twinkling lights and fun decorations. Not only can you ride around from the comfort of your car, but you also have the option to ride through the lights in a horse-drawn carriage ride!

The Polar Express Train Ride - Bristow

In Bristow, Oklahoma there is a real life Polar Express Train! The Easton Flyer transforms into the Polar Express during the holiday season. It is highly encouraged to wear your pajamas on the ride, while and cookies and hot chocolate are provided. Not only will there be a reading of the book, Santa Claus himself makes an appearance!

Trans-Siberian Orchestra - Oklahoma City
The hit American progressive rock band comes to Oklahoma City every year to perform their top Christmas hits. Not only is the show full of good music, but consists of an amazing light show. This is definitely a show not to miss!

Christmas Spectacular - Norman
Christmas Spectacular is held at Journey Church in Norman. This event is completely free and includes holiday treats, carriage rides, Christmas carols, and there is an area made specifically for kids only. Not only is this a fun way to get in the holiday spirit, but also check out the 80,000 light display that is coordinated to music!

SandRidge Santa Run - Oklahoma City

The SandRidge Santa Run is a fun, festive marathon in downtown Oklahoma City. It includes a 5k race, a one-mile fun run, and a free Santa Claus Kid's Dash. Whether you chose the 5k or the Kid's Dash, everyone will warm up with the Oklahoma City Thunder Girls and Mascot Rumble!

Opening Night - Oklahoma City


There's no better way to end the holiday season then going to Opening Night in Downtown Oklahoma City. Opening Night is a celebration to bring in the new year with music, fun, and fireworks. It has been a tradition to Oklahoma City since 1987 and is the perfect way to bring in the new year. There are many festivities occurring throughout the night, including performances by Oklahoma's brightest stars.
