This year at the 73rd annual Golden Globes many exciting moments happened. Although the award show in general was entertaining, there were specific parts of the show that caught, not only my attention, but caught the attention of many viewers from their homes. The Fashion and A-list celebrities that were awarded the next best award after The Oscars are gathered in one area. With Award season starting off on the right foot, here are the top nine moments from the Golden Globes.
1. Lady Gaga
Yes, it’s true. Lady Gaga is now a Golden Globe winner in addition to her other awards. She won best performance by an actress in a limited series or T.V. movie for her role as The Countess in the newest season of "American Horror Story: Hotel." This just made me so happy inside, and yes, I actually jumped up and down after they announced her name. Therefore, I can now officially call her a triple threat in the industry, and I think other fans could admit that too.
2. The reaction heard around social media
Following Lady Gaga’s win, the newest best part was Leonardo DiCaprio's face when Lady Gaga walked by. Yes, it became a trending topic fairly quickly, but all was cleared up when we got an explanation from Leo. According to etonline.com, there was no bad blood between the two, and it was just a misunderstanding.
3. Leonardo DiCaprio
Speaking of Leo, he won Best Actor in a Motion Picture-Drama for his role in the movie, "The Revenant." The best part of his win, was the standing ovation he got from everyone in the audience. Aside from his win, lets take a moment and admire that smile from that picture above.
4. Rocky comes on top
After being nominated in 1977 for his role of Rocky Balboa, Sylvester Stallone reprises his role in the movie "Creed," which is based off of the Rocky Series. This leads the actor to finally winning Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture. Above it all, he also got a standing ovation from fellow actors, and this is his first Golden Globe.
5. It’s a family affair
This year on the Golden Globes, Tom Hanks presented Denzel Washington with the Cecil B. DeMille Award. This was a big honor, and it made this part of the show special because he brought his family on the stage, which may I add are family goals.
6. Cookies for everyone
Well that’s something people aren’t going to forget. Taraji P. Henson got her first Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Drama for her role as Cookie on the show "Empire" and shared her happiness by giving people free cookies. Let’s just say those cookies looked amazing, and she definitely brought the sass when she had twenty seconds left for her speech.
7. False alarm
Jamie Foxx parodied Steve Harvey's Miss Universe mistake when he was presenting Best Original Score. Instead of saying the actual winner, Ennio Morricone, he said "Straight Outta Compton." Good thing he was kidding the whole time.
8. Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Schumer are friendship goals.
Best friends that sit together, present together. These actresses together are one hilarious duo. Amy and Jennifer both pulled out the humor while presenting their movies during the show. After seeing them together, I can’t wait to see what they do in their professional futures.
9. My heart will go on
The reunion that brought happiness to my eyes was, former "Titanic" stars Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio. Both of them hug it out during a commercial break. Let’s just say I am not the only one that freaked out inside when I saw this happen.
Well that’s all the best moments I can conclude from this year’s Golden Globes! I can’t wait to see what’s to come this upcoming award season.
