With college comes a lot of studying. Over the past two semesters, I have studied in many different places, and I have compiled a list of the ten best places to study on campus
1. TJ’s AKA the Tutoring And Writing Center
If you are looking for some place quiet with many different places to study and a beautiful view of the lake, look no further than T.J.s. Whether you would like to study on a comfortable sofa or desk and chair, TJ’s has you covered.
2. The Ward Balcony
In the winter or late fall, once it is no longer ninety degrees with one-hundred percent humidity, soak up some vitamin D along with your class readings.
3. The Bookmark Café
If you need some caffein or a snack to jump start your study session, enjoy a Caramel Macchiato along with your dreaded five-page paper that is due in four hours.
4. Any of the couches in the main library
If you are looking for a place that is comfortable and allows you to spread out or work with a group, study on the couches in the library. They are a comfortable alternative to the hard-back chairs and tables that are provided.
5. The rocking chairs on the library porch
A fun and relaxing place to read is on the library porch as you relax in the comfort of a rocking chair.
6. The First floor of the library
If you are looking for a quieter place to study that has all of the amenities of the main floor, look no further than the first floor. This area does not get popular until the end of the semester, so you can enjoy a quiet place to study without worrying about your phone ringing and someone yelling at you because you are on a quiet floor. #first world problems solved
7. The Bush Atrium
The atrium provides students with a naturally lit room that allows for both individual and group study. With the Bush Café just steps from the table, it is a great place to grab a bite to eat while finishing last-minute assignments.
8. The Study Room In Your Residence Hall
If its pouring outside or the lib isn’t your thing, try the study rooms in your residence hall. These places are free from the distractions of your room, but allow you to get to know people who live in your hall.
9. Study Rooms
Located in various locations throughout the library are study rooms of different sizes and with different amenities. These rooms are great for group or individual study. Study rooms that have TVs are a great place to practice presentations. Just don’t forget to check out a HDMI cord from the circulation desk.
10. Residence Hall Lounges
If you are looking for a comfortable place to study in your residence hall that is not your room, head to the lounge! The lounges feature comfortable couches, and if watching TV while studying is your thing, you will be able to do so in the lounge!
As the year progresses, you too will find your top places to study. You can do this! Go Tars!
