These are the top 7 movies that I would suggest that anyone who has not seen must watch. Most people have either seen or heard of these movies. These just happen to be my favorite as I think that most of these movies harness good values and are always something that I will turn on to make me feel more myself, feel happier, or just have a good laugh. I hope that you enjoy them as much as I do!
1. "Mrs. Doubtfire"
By far one of my favorite movies of all time, also involving my favorite actor, the late and great Robin Williams. Robin Williams’ personality explodes onto the screen in this film. Funny, brilliant, and an amazing story line that highlights some diverse family values, this film is a classic. 23 years later, and I am still laughing hysterically at Robin Williams getting “hot flashes”.
2. "Good Will Hunting"
Again, another great one from the great man, Robin. This movie speaks for itself. Matt Damon, a guy with a torn path, is guided by Robin Williams, a guy who has been through that path and wants to offer guidance. Damon is rebellious in nature, but the chemistry of their friendship is felt in every scene. Amazing acting, writing, and directing. Highly recommend if you have never seen it.
3. "Forrest Gump"
Tom Hanks and his brilliant acting. Great movie that highlights a man’s life and the adversity that he overcame to live a beautiful life. Connects with the audience well and is an incredibly inspiring story.
4. "Big Daddy"
One of my all time favorite comedies and hands down favorite Adam Sandler movie. Funny, creative, and also a great story that warms your heart. Sometimes it is hard to have a comedy movie hold onto its story path, this movie does a great job of executing cute humor with a cute story.
5. "Toy Story"
Because I am obsessed with Disney, and because it is just an amazing movie. My enjoyment of animation started with this movie. The characters were funny and smart. They were brave and built friendships. I love the concept and it has set a standard for animation movies today. Tom Hanks and Tim Allen were an amazing dynamic duo. Whoever the casting director was on that movie was wonderful.
6. "Jerry Maguire"
Although some people do not like Tom Cruise, I used to be obsessed. He does and excellent job in Jerry Maguire, but the writing, directing, and casting are also amazing. The story is funny, romantic, and inspiring. The romance is adorable and unpredictable. And of course, who can refuse the face of that cute little boy.
7. "The Lion King"
Of course another Disney movie. This one does not out-shine Toy Story in my opinion, but is an amazing movie. Wonderful story that has some sad moments for a children’s film. Disney did a great job of executing the story along with crafting the animation. Another big aspect of this film was the music. The music created for this film is one of a kind. Like many original Disney movie soundtracks, these songs featured a variety of instruments and voices that complete the feel of this film. Definitely one that I will definitely make my kids watch.
