Trapfest is Relentless Beats annual celebration of the up and coming genre of EDM known as Trap. Trap features a hard blend of deep bass while adding influences from the hottest rap and hip hop trends. If you haven’t bought your ticket for Trapfest yet and you’re still trying to decide if you should go or not, here are my Top 5 reasons why you should be going to Trapfest this Saturday!
1. The Line-Up Is Out Of This World
Let’s start with the obvious reason: Trapfest 2017 has one of the best line-ups I have seen in a long time with Snails, Party Favor and 4B dominating the headliner slots. I have seen both Snails and Party Favor multiple times and I will tell you that they are not a show you want to miss. If you are a fan of heavy bass, new sounds, and rap influences then this show is for you.
2. Experimental Trap Is Starting Its Come-Up
Stepping away from the mainstage it is worth noting that you 100% should be spending some time at the outdoor stage. Wooly Mammoth and ATLiens are enough to urge me into the sunlight for some new sounds. A solid 80% of my day is spent on Spotify or Soundcloud and 60% of my listening habits is searching for new sounds and undiscovered talent. I am a solid believer in expanding musical horizons so what better way to jam out to fresh sounds than a live set?
3. Relentless Always Delivers
In the last year alone Relentless has been making big moves and putting on even bigger shows like Crush, Mad Decent Block Party and Bassrush Massive. Thomas Turner and his team have been absolutely killing it which is why I have no doubts that Trapfest 2017 will be amazing.
4. The Energy Is Intense
Trap comes with its own feelings and vibe that's somewhere between your typical bass show and a riot. Mosh pits are more than guaranteed, headbanging is mandatory, and your feet will probably be off the floor for a majority of the concert. Trap brings a raw energy to the EDM game that is new, exciting, worthy of recognition.
5. Arizona Has A Growing Reputation To Uphold
Colorado and California can kiss their reputation goodbye because Arizona has shown up and shut it down with artists like GTA, Yellow Claw, SAYMYNAME and Ookay admitting that Arizona goes hard. I went to Beyond Wonderland in California this year and I’ve been to Red Rocks, none of the shows have compared to my experiences right here at home. Arizona does better, you know it and I know it, now let's make sure that the rest of the world knows it.
