It might seem like words on a page or some articles on a website. But, to all of you out there who write for Odyssey like me, I hope you can relate. We write for a really incredible community, and being part of this is such a great opportunity for each one of us to have. We a special breed of people, speaking our minds and providing a place for our generation to flourish and come together to talk about what matters to us. So enjoy and to all of you awesome writers, editors, and staff members keep up the hard work and creativity.

1. We Have An Influence On A Large Group Of People

Our writing can touch people in our own backyards, other students on campus and even any place around the globe. We go beyond any physical border these very words can be read in any country to anyone who has internet access. That is a wild thought and I'm not sure how many of us really think of that. Our words can penetrate so many different social settings.

2. We Can Express Our Creative Thoughts And Ideas

Whatever is of interest to us and can connect others is free for us to explore through writing. Our writing is an open door to any place, person or idea that exist. The sky isn't the limit, we have our entire imagination to put out. We are a generation of infinite influence and now we have an avenue to influence so we should use it the best of our advantage.

3. Topic Choices

We have the world to choose from. Our thoughts are an open door to any place, any person, anytime in history. Our writing is taking readers on a journey. Be free, write honest, and think big. Write your hearts out!

4. It Matures Our Writing And Grammar Skills

Let's be honest from your first article to your latest there is a big improvement. Plus we are honing our skills through doing writing that we actually enjoy and want to do. It's not like your professors assigning you a big paper that is due tomorrow that isn't even started.

5. It Allows Us To Build A Portfolio Of Pieces For Future Employment

This a wonderful benefit to be able to show works you did to companies you may want to work at. Plus, now that it's out there even companies you might not notice could potentially find you and see your work. It's putting your thoughts out there. It's about starting a conversation that the rest of the world can join.
