When people think of the city Miami, they think beaches, clubs, parties, and having fun. But I think of Miami as my home and it is my favorite place to be. Miami is the best city to go visit; there are plenty of things to do, to see and explore, and then there is my favorite part... FOOD. The food in Miami is absolutely delicious and there are so many options to choose. From breakfast to dessert, Miami is the best place to explore cultures with your appetite. I will be listing my 5 favorite places to eat when I'm in Miami.

1. Pinolandia.

119 NW 12th Ave, Miami, FL 33128

Pinolandia is located in Little Havana and it is Nicaraguan cuisine. The typical plate you would order there is carne asada, Gallo pinto- which is white rice and beans, sweet plantains, and if you're feeling a little extra, Queso Frito, which translates to fried cheese. This is my all time favorite place to hit for lunch or dinner whenever I am in town. It is so filling and delicious. If you're ever in Little Havana you must try it. Plus, they are open 24 hours!

2. Casavana

8202 Mills Dr, Miami, FL 33183

13600 SW 152nd St, Miami, FL 33177

Casavana is one of my favorite places to go to have a typical Cuban-Miamian breakfast. Here at Casavana, they have the best croquetas de jamon y croquetas de pollo which translate to ham and chicken croquettes. I love to start out the day with croquetitas and cafecito (Coffee) and Cuban toast with butter. Their main breakfast is scrambled eggs and bacon. It may not seem like much but it is absolutely delightful. You won't have breakfast like this anywhere.

3. Latin House Grill

9565 Sunset Dr, Miami, FL 33173

Latin House Grill is a great place to have dinner at. It became a well-known restaurant after it's TV appearance on Food Network's "Mystery Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" with Guy Fieri. The food here is amazing and so flavorful. You can't go wrong with choosing anything on the menu.. everything is a go-to food. It's amazing to think that this restaurant started as a food truck and now it is a full sit down location with a sister branch called MadLove that just opened!

4. House Kitchen and Bar

180 Aragon Ave, Coral Gables, FL 33134

House is located in the heart of Coral Gables and it is a great place to go visit for happy hour! They have great food and great drinks. My favorites on the menu are the Margherita pizza and the Asian flavored chicken wings. I love coming here especially on Thursdays when it is ladies night as they have free unlimited champagne. It is also a great place to come and unwind with friends. They have dimmed lights and a live DJ spinning a set. It is a very entertaining place with delicious food.

5. Don Domingo

2756 SW 137th Ave, Miami, FL 33175

And last but not least, Don Domingo! Don Domingo is a great place to come have delicious steak. Think of it like the restaurant The Knife but better. It has way better quality and the parillada is delicious. Now a parillada is a mix of meats and poultry grilled. My all-time favorite meal here is the pan con churassco which is like a steak sandwich. Come and have some wine and steak.

So if you get the chance to come to town, skip the other Argentinian basics and hit up a local we love.

Now come to Miami and have some delicious food! You won't regret it!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
