If you haven't been living under a rock for the past year, you've probably seen at least one clip from Spike's "Lip Sync Battle." Hosted by LL Cool J and Chrissy Teigen, this show started in 2015 but has already boasted celebrities like Queen Latifah, Justin Bieber and will soon feature Hayley Atwell vs. Clark Gregg. Some of these performances are OK, they're humorous, but largely forgettable. Some, however, are so absurdly hilarious that you'll think back on them and laugh a few weeks or months later. Now we're going to count down the top five celebrity lip sync battles and hopefully laugh just a little bit.
Honorable Mentions
These are pretty great, but they either lack the production aspect of other performances or they are great but the bar is set pretty high.
The Rock vs. Jimmy Fallon
These performances were on one of the first episodes, and I don't think these two didn't know what the show would become. Jimmy Fallon's was pretty good, but it was the Rock's that earned this one its spot on this list.
Terry Crews vs. Mike Tyson
Mike Tyson's performance is OK, but the real MVP here is Terry Crews. If you haven't seen "White Chicks," Crews' performance isn't as funny (which is why it didn't make the proper list) but if you have...
5. Joseph Gordon-Levitt vs. Anthony Mackie
It physically pains me to have to put these next five in any order. With that being said, this one comes in fifth because while I love Anthony Mackie, his performance isn't one of my favorites. JGL's on the other hand is absolutely amazing because it really shows off his lip syncing as well as his dancing abilities.
4. Anne Hathaway vs. Emily Blunt
Anne Hathaway was also on one of the first episodes of the series and she did not disappoint. Neither did Emily Blunt, but it's kind of difficult to compete with Anne Hathaway swinging on a giant wrecking ball and licking a sledgehammer.
3. Channing Tatum vs. Jenna Dewan-Tatum
What's better than a husband and wife duking it out in the lip sync battle arena? Nothing. These two both have dance training and don't hold back just because they're married. Jenna's also features a little cameo, and well why on Earth wouldn't you want to see Channing don a dress and lip sync to a song that we're all just a bit tired of?
2. John Krasinski vs. Anna Kendrick
Jim Halpert (I mean, John Krasinski) is amazing. Anna Kendrick is amazing. Their performances do not disappoint.
1. Jenna Dewan-Tatum vs. Channing Tatum
These two did such great performances they deserve to be on this list twice. This one aired relatively recently, so I won't spoil anything massive—but I will say that if you're of a more...sensitive...disposition, you may not appreciate Ms. Dewan-Tatum.
You may not agree with me on the rankings here, but I think we can all agree that the real winner here is us as a viewer.
