I think it's safe to say that every college students' best friend has recently become their handy dandy Netflix. Everywhere I turn I see posts or hear people excitedly chattering away about their latest binge week on the website. This begs the question though, what are the most binge worthy TV shows that are currently on or coming to Netflix? Everybody seems to have some favorites that they hold dear to their hearts, or are currently jumping up and down anticipating a completely new series. So without further ado I give to you my top ten binge worthy shows on Netflix.
1. Orange is the New Black
Orange is the New Black is an insanely engaging show about a woman named Piper who is sent to prison and the inmates she meets while serving her time. There is such a high quality of the depth you receive from each character and their backstory, not to mention it's funny as hell. This show will have you on the floor laughing at it's most funniest of moments and crying at it's more somber ones. It deals with very heavy topics such as homosexuality, religion, transgender issues, drug abuse and the unfair treatment of women in prison settings. It definitely is not for the faint of heart, but it is a must watch for those who are brave and willing.
2. Queer As Folk
Queer as Folk originally played on Showtime is a raunchy but heart wrenching show that follows the story of gay men and lesbians and the struggles they faced in the late 90's and early 2000s era. This show was a true revelation as it was one of the first TV shows to be all about homosexuals, it paved the way for shows such as the L Word and Modern Family. The characters are all very multi faceted and lovable, you will find your self on the edge of your seat with every action and every word that takes place. There is a heavy amount of gay sex, drug use, curse words, and more. It may not be for everyone but if you find yourself stumbling across it I highly recommend it for each episode will have you laughing and crying at every twist and turn it throws at you.
3. House, M.D.
An oldie but a goodie House, M.D. is one of those shows that always has you on edge even if you know every episode by heart. It takes place in a hospital where a brilliant but perpetually grumpy doctor solves odd ball medical cases that others can't seem to figure out except for him. It is a really amazing show filled with a bunch of laughs and intensity. There is the occasional graphic surgery scene so if you are squeamish here's your warning first hand. However, I still recommend that you give it a chance not only because it's a classic, but because it is insightful and edgy and occasionally educational for those who like to learn new information.
4. Fuller House
A new addition to Netflix, but it's a show that will most certainly have our hearts filling with nostalgia. Fuller House is a continuation of the old classic Full House in which it follows, DJ, her sister Stephanie and DJ's old friend Kimmie as they essentially take over the roles that their older male presets had before them. Having the gang all together under the same roof again will definitely rekindle those old childhood feels. So if you're looking to be taken back to your childhood one more time I highly suggest checking out Fuller House.
5. Supernatural
Supernatural is pretty much what the title entails and that is a show about the supernatural. The show follows two brothers Sam and Dean who hunt demonic monsters. It is really quite the thriller and filled with numerous amounts of twists and turns that you would never imagine to see coming. This show is the favorite of many, because it is one filled with nightmarish creatures, attractive main characters, and high intensity feels that will have you screaming at your screen almost every episode. If you haven't come across this little gem on Netflix yet, you should definitely think about adding it to your watch list now.
