Last Sunday the 2017 Billboard Music Awards were on and there were many special performances. Opening the show was Nicki Minaj and honestly, I've seen her do better, but it wasn't a terrible performance and it got people's attention. Besides Nicki, the list of performers included: Miley Cyrus, Lorde, Julia Michaels (lover her), Sam Hunt, Imagine Dragons, Drake, Halsey, Florida Georgia Line and John Legend, The Chainsmokers, Camilla Cabello, Ed Sheeran, Cher, Celine Dion, and Bruno Mars. Here are my top 5 best performances at the BBMA's 2017:

1. Camilla Cabello

This was her first performance as a solo artist since leaving Fifth Harmony. She absolutely nailed her performance and showed that she can really make it going solo!

2. Ed Sheeran

He was performing 'Castle On The Hill' live from his concert in Santiago, Chile. What I love about Ed is that he's so authentic and he really is a one man band with his loop pedal and guitar!

3. Bruno Mars

Bruno performed 'Versace On The Floor', but really the only thing on the floor was my jaw. What a talented man! I'm seeing him in concert in October and I think I'm just going to be a puddle of emotions by the end.

4. Cher

At 71, she can still move better than I can. The video isn't her entire performance, but it shows a little bit of her singing 'Believe'. (Click the picture to see the video).

5. Celine Dion

(Click on the photo to view a clip of the performance). There was not a dry eye in the house. At 49 years old, she can still belt out the classic song, 'My Heart Will Go On' and of course, received a standing ovation! Honestly, I couldn't help but think about how Rose really could've left some room for Jack on the door while scenes from "Titanic" played on the screen in the background.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
