Over the summer, I went on a journey to get healthier, which is a whole other article in itself. In that journey, I found Halo Top ice cream and I fell in love with it. I think I enjoyed it even more than I enjoyed regular ice cream! I've only tested a few flavors, but here are the best of what I've tried. Also, everyone can have Halo due to them having a soy free and dairy free option.
1. Candy Bar.
This tastes as close as it can get to a Snickers bar. It has nuts and is full of chocolate. I'd say that this tastes the most like "normal" ice cream as well as number 2 on this list.
2. Birthday Cake.
This legit tastes like fun-fetti cake mixed in ice cream. I think this is better than the cake batter ice cream flavor in D-hall...don't @ me. I love Birthday Cake so much it was hard to decide which one between Candy Bar and Birthday Cake to be at the top of this list. This also tastes the most like "normal" ice cream.
3. Cookies and Cream.
Cookies and Cream by Halo Top tastes like a lighter version of the typical cookies and cream ice cream from the parlor. The "normal" cookies and cream flavor would always upset my stomach because of it being so rich and I would feel bloated. This alternative is lighter and doesn't taste much different and you can get on with your day without being bloated and having to go into a food coma.
4. Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough.
This tastes exactly like cookie dough ice cream like from any other brand. Again, it doesn't leave you feeling ill if you happen to have a lot of it. I love it.
5. Caramel Macchiato.
This tastes like a caramel frappuccino from Starbucks without all the added sugars. It's amazing. Especially if you're not into typical coffee ice cream flavors, this is definitely the only for you.
6. S'mores.
I liked this flavor at one point, but I really don't like it anymore. It's good because it's Halo Top, but I'm not a fan of it because it has an overwhelming taste of fake graham cracker flavor and fake marshmallow flavor. If you want something that actually tastes like s'mores, this isn't for you.
Halo Top is the best sweet treat on the market right now for being marketed as a lighter ice cream option, but still being real ice cream. I love Halo Top, and I hope you like my recommendations and are encouraged to try other flavors.
