Top 15 Fall Out Boy Songs
Fall Out Boy

I’ve been known to obsess over bands from time to time, but Fall Out Boy has been a pretty consistent one for the last six or so years. I’ve seen them live twice, and they were absolutely amazing both times. I have yet to encounter one of their songs that doesn’t resonate with me in some way. I’ve compiled a list of my top 15 favorite Fall Out Boy songs along with my favorite lyrics from each song. This list isn’t in any particular order because, at this point, I can't rank these songs anymore.

1. "What A Catch, Donnie.

"Folie À Deux" (2008).

“They say the captain/Goes down with the ship/So, when the world ends/Will God go down with it?”

2. "Hum Hallelujah."

"Infinity on High" (2007).

“So hum hallelujah,/Just off the key of reason/I thought I loved you/It was just how you looked in the light.”

3. "Jet Pack Blues."

"American Beauty/American Psycho" (2015).

“She’s in a long black coat tonight/Waiting for me in the downpour outside/She’s singing “Baby come home” in a melody of tears/While the rhythm of the rain keeps time.”

4. "Sophomore Slump Or Comeback of the Year"

"From Under the Cork Tree" (2005).

“We're the therapists pumping through your speakers/Delivering just what you need.”

5. "Lullabye."

"Folie À Deux" (2008).

“It doesn't matter how you feel/Life is just a Ferris wheel.”

6. "The Music or the Misery."

"From Under the Cork Tree" Limited “Black Clouds and Underdogs” Edition. (2005).

“I got your love letters, corrected the grammar and sent them back./It's true romance is dead, I shot it in the chest then in the head.”

7. "Bang the Doldrums."

"Infinity on High" (2007).

“The tombstones were waiting/They were half-engraved/They knew it was over/Just didn't know the date”

8. "Hot to the Touch, Cold on the Inside"

"PAX AM Days" (2013).

“They've got us surrounded; we're in their sights/But they're not taking us alive”

9. "Save Rock and Roll."

"Save Rock and Roll" (2013).

“You are what you love/Not who loves you/In a world full of the word 'Yes'/I'm here to scream/No”

Fun Fact: The album version of this song features Sir Elton John.

10. "Homesick at Space Camp."

"Take This to Your Grave" (2004).

“Tonight the headphones will deliver you the words that I can't say/Tonight I'm writing you a million miles away.”

11. "Alpha Dog."

"Believers Never Die" (2009).

“Your time has passed they say never means never/Solar flare stares won't last but never means forever.”

12. "Alone Together."

"Save Rock and Roll" (2013).

“'Cause I don't know where you're going/But do you got room for one more troubled soul?”

13. "Dead on Arrival."

"Take This to Your Grave" (2004).

“This is side one/flip me over/I know I’m not your favorite record/the songs you grow to like never stick at first.”

14. "Young Volcanoes."

"Save Rock and Roll" (2013).

“We’re the beginning of the end.”

15. "Twin Skeleton’s (Hotel in NYC)."

"American Beauty/American Psycho" (2015).

“I wanna throw my hands in the air and scream/And I could just die laughing on your spiral of shame.”

I have at least one favorite song from every album. Their sound has evolved with every album over the last 13 years, but there’s a certain quality about their songs that just gets me every time I listen to them.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
