With great power, comes great responsibility.

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it’s just a list of the best superheroes in Marvel and DC entertainment.

1. Wolverine

Wolverine is known for his Adamantium claws that burst out of his knuckles when he’s ready for battle. However, he didn’t always have a metal skeleton. Thanks to William Stryker, Wolverine is now one of the most powerful superheroes on the planet. He’s virtually indestructible and can handle anything that comes his way.

2. Captain America

Steve Rogers is as patriotic as they come. Once a scrawny man unable to register for war due to his health, Steve, underwent a procedure that made his strength, endurance, healing, and speed transform him into the superhero we know and love.

3. Spider-Man

Nerdy Peter Parker was bitten by a radioactive spider. Any normal person would probably seek medical attention, but Peter Parker became Spider-Man instead and now he can swing from building to building with the webs he shoots out of his wrists. (FYI: Tobey Maguire is the better Spider-Man).

4. Deadpool

Wade Wilson is notorious for breaking the fourth wall. His quick wit and sarcastic comebacks are why we love this superhero. Oh yeah, and he has an accelerated healing factor that allows him to regrow limbs. How cool is that?

5. Ant-Man

Scott Lang owns a suit that allows him to shrink down to the size of an ant while keeping his strength, which allows him to defeat his enemies with ease.

6. Iron Man

Genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist. We get it, Tony Stark.

7. Jessica Jones

She is the only female on this list, but she knows how to hold her own. Jessica Jones has super strength and she can fly. There’s also the fact that she has her own private investigation service.

8. Daredevil

Matt Murdock was blinded as a child, which somehow allowed his other four senses to become extremely sensitive and and highly accurate.

9. Thor

Thor is an Asgardian god and the son of Odin. We all know him for his mighty hammer and funny accent.

10. Doctor Strange

Stephen Strange was once an actual doctor, but a car accident caused severe nerve damage to his hands and so, he was no longer able to operate. Stephen Strange then become a master at all things magic.

11. Gambit

Remy LeBeau, like Wolverine, is a part of the X-Men. He has the ability to tap into the potential energy within an object and transform it into kinetic energy. How cool is that?

12. Batman

There’s simple reasoning to this one: because Batman.

Superheroes have been around for several decades. If it weren’t for Marvel and DC, half the nerds in the world would be lost. So, for that, we thank you for allowing us to be apart of something bigger than ourselves for once.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
