I am a college student with wanderlust. Wanderlust is a strong desire to travel or explore the world. I am also a college student with very little money. When I do get money, it goes towards things I need - books, gas, clothes, and food. I can only hope that someday I will have enough money to travel - and when I do - these will be the top 12 places I want to go and why.
1. Disneyland, U.S.A.
I have been to Walt Disney World so many times, but have never had the pleasure of going to Disneyland. I know it’s not as big, but I am so into the history of the Disney company and Walt Disney himself that it would be worth it.
2. Mount Rushmore, U.S.A.
I am secretly a history buff. Being a music major, I don’t spend much time reading about things that I’m interested in outside of music, but I’ve always had a huge interest in American History and the presidents.
3. The Grand Canyon, U.S.A.
The Grand Canyon is considered one of the natural wonders of the world - and it truly is beautiful. I mean, I’ve only seen pictures of it, but it honestly looks so amazing.
4. Hawaii, U.S.A.
Between the six islands, there is so much to see. From all of the beautiful ocean views, forests, beaches, and waterfalls, I can only imagine that it’s paradise.
5. Cork, Ireland
I had two friends who studied in Ireland for a semester. Seeing their pictures of their travels and adventures made me so jealous - and made me want to see it for myself.
6. London, England
Again, history. The history of England is extensive and extremely interesting to me. I would love to see the different castles and major landmarks.
7. Liverpool, England
I am also a huge Beatles fan. Liverpool is where The Beatles got their start, and to be in that place and absorb all of the history would be a dream come true.
8. Rome, Italy
I am in love with the actress Audrey Hepburn - and one of her first big hit movies was Roman Holiday. I’d love to be able to see the monuments from the movie in color and maybe recreate some of the scenes…
9. Paris, France
Ah, the city of lights. France is yet another place filled with history and beautiful sights. Notre Dame Cathedral, the Eiffel Tower, the Lourve...one can only imagine.
10. Vienna, Austria
As a musician, I cannot forget about Vienna. There’s so much musical history that has taken place there that you can’t not go.
11. Barcelona, Spain
I took Spanish classes in high school and fell in love with the language and the culture. Being able to experience it first hand would be an amazing experience and I could imagine myself being there for weeks.
12. Maasai Mara Reserve, Kenya
If you have any places that you want to travel to, I encourage you to do it. If you need to take out a loan or you drain your whole bank account...
Travel.
