As the end of September nears, the beginning of fall is steadily approaching. Fall is one of those seasons that's more than abundant with things specific towards its own season, which is why you'd know it's approaching by walking into any shopping mall or store. But, there are specific reasons I do love fall, and here are some of them:

1. Everything looks so pretty!

If you're living in the Hudson Valley, or anywhere by trees, you already know about the leaves changing colors. They go from green to shades of orange, red and yellow. The changing colors of leaves make everything look much more colorful and always seem to perk me up whenever I can see them. Plus, the crunching noise the leaves make while you step on them is oh-so satisfying.

2. Pumpkin and apple picking!

Once I know fall is coming up, I make sure I have a time set aside to go pumpkin and apple picking. Not only is it a totally Instagram-worthy date, but it is a fun family activity, too! I could spend hours walking around a pumpkin patch trying to pick the perfect pumpkin or spend a while in an apple orchard walking up and down the various rows of the different types of apples.

3. Halloween is approaching!

One of my favorite holidays EVER is Halloween! You can dress up as anything you want, haunted houses are opening, there's scary movies shown everywhere and on television, candy is also everywhere and in mega bulk, and it's just a fun time all around! You're never too old to trick-or-treat!

4. Sweater weather is back in full swing.

You know those days where you wake up in the fall, and it's brisk out and you just put on your favorite comfy sweater and a pair of pants and walk out the door? I live for those moments. Sweaters are a big part of most fall-lovers life, and there's no question as to why, they are so warm and comfy!

5. Fall = Family Time!

Fall means orange leaves which means cooler weather, which means turkeys, which means Thanksgiving. The college kids go home for a week or a few days and get to spend time with their families! Fall is perfect for family time, whether it's because of Thanksgiving or doing one of the many fall activities like pumpkin and apple picking together!

6. Bonfires!

One very popular fall-time activity is having bonfires. Whether at your house or your school supporting your school spirit, there's something about everyone gathering around a big warm fire that makes me all fuzzy inside. Bonfires are great for building community in school or simply bonding and exchanging stories with your friends.

7. Pumpkin Spice is Back!!!

Okay, so I know not EVERYONE is a big fan of the Pumpkin Spice Latte (PSL for short), and I do agree that it does come out way too soon for fall, and that there are too many pumpkin spice flavored things, but there's just something about being able to drink a PSL while walking around and observing the color changing act of the leaves. Plus, it's totally great for Snapchat stories and Instagram posts.

8. Flannels are perfect for this weather!

I am a big fan of flannels and as soon as it hits fall weather, I make sure to break out my arsenal of flannels. They are so easy to wear and super comfy!

9. And so are boots!

Boots are also a very popular fashion accessory in the fall! They keep your feet and calves warm and look adorable at the same time!

10. IT MEANS CHRISTMAS IS SOON!!!!!

The second fall hits, you will be sure to see Christmas decorations popping up wherever you see Halloween ones! And, I know I can't be the only giddy one when Santa comes out in his sleigh at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
