I have traveled to France four times in the past four years to visit my older sister and I am incredibly grateful. Each time I have gone, I have experienced something completely new and unique to each trip. Everything looks like it belongs in a painting and the history is beyond fathomable. Here is a list of my top ten favorite places in France.
Angelina:
If you are looking to enjoy a nice cool drink with an amazing view of Paris that includes Notre Dame, the Eiffel Tower and Hôtel de Ville, then this is definitely the place to be. The outside area has a view on all sides with twinkling Christmas lights hanging all around you for the perfect atmosphere.
Jardin Du Luxembourg:
Enjoy a picnic in the Luxembourg gardens with some cheese and baguettes. The bright green grass is accompanied with flowers everywhere you look with a picturesque view of the palace of Luxembourg.
Notre Dame:
This is definitely one of my favorite places in Paris. Not only is the church itself extraordinary to look at but you will literally be able to feel all the history that comes with it.
Versailles:
Another one of my absolute favorites, this palace will have your jaw drop for the rest of your life. Take a stroll through the beautiful palace to admire all the amazing architecture as well as solid gold walls (literally.) Then walk through the same, beautiful gardens the Sun King and Marie Antoinette walked through.
The Seine:
Whether day or night it is the perfect little spot to take a blanket and a couple of pastries to sit, relax, and admire the view of the river and the city of Paris.
The Opera:
When you come upon the extravagant staircase you will feel as if you were one of the kings/queens who did so long ago. In addition, the golden architecture and bright red chairs are truly magical just as I imagine one of the shows there would be.
Montmartre:
All the stairs are worth it. I promise. The hill is dominated by the Basilica of the Sacré cour. While you are walking around the vibrant area you will see the same remarkable beauty that Picasso, Monet, and Van Gogh saw in the early twentieth century.
Montparnasse Tower:
This view is unlike any other because you will actually be able to see everything including the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triumph, and Montmartre. (Instead of being on top of one of those and not having one of the monuments in the background.)
Eiffel Tower:
Well...this one is just obvious. Watching the tower sparkle at night is truly magic.
